FYI, The software support for this product has already ended. So there will be no future security patch available for this device.
I had similar situations on a 2XL bought off Woot a few weeks ago. After I upgraded the phone to 11, I ran the following steps in order to resolve the "Apps stopped working" errors:
1. clear all caches with the recovery menu;
2. Then, factory rest
3. set up the phone as "new" rather than recovery from any Google cloud backups.

All problems resolved, never had any "Apps stopped working" again.
So you still came into this thread to comment knowing it wasn't the model nor the size you were interested in.

Yep, one of the reasons I upgraded to a Pixel 3 XL. I use Mint, which uses T-mobile's network. Most of the time it works great, but in some buildings the connection is spotty when everyone else doesn't have an issue.
You can pick up a brand new Pixel 3 XL for about $200 shipped, not much different than this, and supports band 71.
The Pixel 2 XL is great though, used it for about 2 years.

Everyone buying one of these should pick up a USB-C silicone dust cap. Mine had some pretty bad issues charging because the port is pretty exposed. I cleaned it out with alcohol and a toothpick, that allowed it to charge, but the cable doesn't stay in very well still.

I was about to submit to the second round buy fever but googled 2XL vs 3XL and there is a 3aXL video vs 2XL youtube to consider before buying this, regarding the panel (both are 1080p panels so apples to apples). I know 3aXL isn't in these deals but the guy shows how the 2XL panel compares poorly to the same spec panel in the 3aXL, which I will wait to go surplus here (does anybody in these forum have further info on that?)

Most reviews say the off angle blue tint of the 2XL isn't a big deal but the 3XL definitely has a better display. I'll compare it to my Sammy when it arrives tomorrow. Lots of Youtube vids about how good the Pixel 2XL is in 2021.

Yes 3XL has outstanding display but the new inventory is over $200 and the notch is big.

The thing from the that video is the 3aXL (not 3XL) has a much better 1080p display than 2XL. So is there 3aXL projected in back stock coming up. Some posters in the know have commented on this recent Pixel dump.

Considering getting a Pixel 2 XL for use on T-Mobile and I have question.

- I know the Pixel 2 does not have band 71
- I know that T-mobile has quite a few dead areas in the Midwest
- I know that T-mobile is in the process filling in many of these dead spots
- Are they using band 71 exclusively to fill in the dead areas??

I don't want to be stuck with phone that will have large dead areas.

Thanks for the input.

All problems resolved, never had any "Apps stopped working" again.
So out of the box it was running 8.0, I skipped everything in the setup, didn't install anything, didn't even sign into google, just connected it to wifi & got the message to update to android 10. After it updated to 10 it seemed fine still, a few minutes later got the message to update to android 11. After it restarted to finish installing android 11 things went down hill though, kept flashing boxes saying XYZ stopped working but would go away before I could read them or hit anything, then it would reboot, kept rebooting every 30-40 seconds..

So I did a factory reset, after that it was stable no longer rebooting but kept saying google has stopped working.. did another factory reset from the recovery boot menu, this time I went through the whole setup, didn't skip anything.. connected back to my wifi, signed into google. after the setup it gave the google has stopped working error again. but then after updating all the apps in google play & google play updated itself, also it got 2 more OTA security updates, it stopped having issues.

The next issue was eSIM options seem to be gone?? it was asking me about setting up a eSIM when I first powered it on but now on Android 11 there doesn't seem to be any eSIM option??? with no SIM installed the Mobile Network tab is just greyed out, you can't enter it.

After installing my SIM the connection kept looping, showed a signal then would just drop to nothing & give a X over it, kept doing that till I went to the system menu to reset all network connections, I pressed that it said it reset everything, the signal went full & showed H next to it then went LTE & stayed solid, connected back to my wifi & everything seems okay now, still no eSIM option though but at least everything else seems to be working.

So currently it seems stable now on Android 11, installed my apps, discord, snapchat, amazon, everything seems to be working smoothly, no crash messages.

The camera does take a lot nicer pictures vs my Moto G7 plus, so I'm happy about that.
It overall is snappier than my Moto G7 plus.

The phone seems nice, the update process to get it to Android 11 is a mess though. If I was doing it again I'd try to sign into google play on 8.0 let it update all the apps before attempting to update the OS & see if that would prevent the issues I ran into while updating to Android 11.

Just received mine and started messing with it. Looks and build quality are super nice. That blue tint thing at off angles is way more apparent then I thought it would be but not a big deal to me.

After comparing it to my Galaxy S9+ I'm not worried about the blue color shift. My S9+'s screen does the exact same thing but not quite as bad. I really never even noticed it until nowSmilie
