This.. The global counterfeit market is now over 5% of world trade. Let that sink in.. billions of dollars every year and growing. I quit buying a lot of products on Amazon because of this. The other day I even ran across a counterfeit version of a screwdriver on Amazon. Have to stay sharp these days.
Personally I'm a TWSBI guy but can't pass this up at this price... also love the Bold nibs!
Writing with a fountain pen is just a different experience. I have this exact fountain pen (I love the broad tips, as a lot of ink flows, which I like). The pen is light and feels plastic, but it's a good one to throw around the desk and not worry about too much due to the low cost. I currently write with this one, the Pilot Metropolitan, medium point nib, a Waterman medium point nib (not an expensive Waterman, a fairly low-cost one), and a Namiki vanishing point broad tip. All of them are different experiences. I have a nice Waterman fountain pen, broad tip, that I rarely use. It was expensive and I'm not going to make that mistake again, because *I* won't use it for fear of having it walk away (or me just lose it.)
If you ever get a fountain pen for the "benefit" of it, I'm not sure that you will be happy. I'd spend $15-20 on a Lamy like this one, or a metal Pilot Metropolitan pen, and see if you like it. The Lamy comes with one cartridge (you have to buy a converter if you want to refill it with fountain pen ink), and you can purchase additional cartridges if you like, but that's not any fun and more expensive in the long run anyway.
Before I post this, I did think of one "benefit." You can purchase any number of different fountain pen ink colors, types, etc. If you want to write with brown ink, you can do it. If purple is your mojo, go for it. Some people like a light color blue, others like dark color blues. Get red ink if you want to use it to mark something up. For my everyday writing, I like a blue-black ink.
