I had the self propel fail on this model after two summers of use on a 1/8th acre lot. Self propel failure is too common on this model to recommend the 1 year warrantied reconditioned version. Self repair is an option but costly and complicated
Walmart has the same for same price (ships and sold by acme) but you can return to the Walmart store 🏬 just FYI
Oooh with 7.5Ah battery? That's almost a "battery (comes with free mower)" deal.

Shoot, well, I bought it. I didn't see any reports of self propel failure when I was researching this. Can you point me to any?

Looking to make the jump from gas to battery for my lawn care tools - sick of dealing with the fact that my trimmer and blower are a bit temper mental and don't always start right away.

My dilemma right now, this refurbished (non brushless version) for $329 with a one year warranty or buy a new Ryobi 40V Brushless 20 in. self-propelled with the 6.0 Ah battery & charger with the full 5 year warranty for $349.

EGO seems to be the more respected product but seems like Ryobi may be a better value - thoughts?

What exactly happened to it? I bought a used one on Craigs. Been working good but I have seen YouTube videos saying the whole thing messes up due to the constant bending of the handle when you put it away to store it.

There is a diy on YouTube to fix it. Wondering if it's the same issue that you have

Can't say anything about ryobi but I went from a 24v sun joe on a tiny yard to this and I love it. Neighbor has a similar model and he loves it. Have the blower and weed whacker as well.

Walmart shows that it comes with the 5.0 battery. Acme Tools shows that it comes with the 7.5.
