I've had both. The R-52c was louder/brighter and the RP500 was smoother more refined. If you have reference premiere left and right channel I would flip the 52c and buy this. If you don't, or don't see your self upgrading, you're not missing a whole lot for double the cost.

I'm upgrading from a 400C. Probably don't need to, but wanted to better match a pair of 5000F.

I picked up the Klipsch Reference R-52C almost 2 months ago off Adorama when it was on sale for $129. Is this RP500C worth double the price of the R-52C? They seem to have pretty similar specs so not sure if it would be worth the hassle of trying to sell the R-52 and getting the RP500. Any thoughts?

I'd like to know this also. I have the Klipsch Reference Dolby Atmos Surround System from Costco I purchased a year and a half ago which included the R-52C.

I'm alsoooo looking to upgrade from the R-52C but I can move that to my game room and upgrade my main home theater. So my main question is, if I go for this RP500 am I going to have the craving to upgrade again in another year to something better?

I just did a little research and yes, its worth the upgrade. The frequency response is better on the 500C. Since you'll be using the center channel the most when watching movies its a no brainer. Also the 500's frequency response is 60-25k Hz compared to 89-21k Hz for the R52C The 500C is also heavier.

The enclosures in the R52C is Acoustic Suspension compared to Bass Reflex in the RP500C. Bass reflex includes a tuned port.

IMHO, coming from a person with guitar speaker cabinet experience, the heavier the cabinet, the better the sound due to better thicker wood used in the construction. Compare a Marshall cabinet to a Mesa cabinet with the same speakers.

I used these mainly for movies and TV. I had a 2 subwoofer setup when I tested, and ran my front and rear channels above 100Hz and let the subs take care of the bass. You may be correct, but that was a moot point for my needs. The frequency response stats are also probably correct, but for dialogue this may be less noticeable than music

I have pair rp 400c with rp-150m , I am not sure if the rp 150m will do ok as front speakers.

My issue was the height of the center speaker... for my setup the lower profile center, with balancing of the whole system, was better than the taller (this)
