(mostly due to paid reviews on these types of products) and much like the paid
shilling on SD. Also ignore that $24.98 'list price'; no sane person would pay that
for a simple foiled, MDF 'desk accessory'. Ten bucks, meh.

Average desk is 30", and a 22" wide screen monitor with a 16x9 ratio is ~12" tall plus 3-4" for the stand (if it's not adjustable), so for someone 5'8" to 5'9", this still leaves the top 1/3 of the screen just below what would be considered a comfortable straight-on viewing angle (~46" vs ~48").

Edit:
In order to be more helpful to you internet strangers who thought my original post failed to meet your standards...I received my order today and assembled it.
Process was reminiscent of assembling IKEA furniture. Particle board construction with no exposed surfaces after assembly. Fairly sturdy overall and solid (more study than another plastic monitor stand I bought from Amazon).
Only thing less than ideal was the phone holder slot: almost seemed like it was added as an afterthought. The hole wasn't drilled flat and the plastic holder isn't secured so it could potentially pop out.
Other than that, I stand by my original post: for $10, why not.
