Just bought this for my daughter from HD, somewhat as a joke. They had it on clearance for $24. This is one of those thermoelectric coolers that can run on AC or DC. It uses 48w with the wall plug. My daughter may end up taking it to college next year.

I've had one of these for a good six months I use as a mini-fridge for beer. It won't get as cold as a regular fridge if you have higher ambient temps, but it can get a good 30F below ambient.

Depending on your personal preference for a particular beverage and if you want it chilled but NOT ice cold, it may be preferable... or not. Can hold six standard cans or 4 larger ones with removable tray removed.
