I got the 4500U version of this a year ago for $500, with 256GB SSD. It's an excellent laptop - decent display, good build, runs cool and quiet, great battery life. However, the 5500U in this is only a small improvement over the 4500U (still Zen 2, not Zen 3 like the 5600U), and the soldered, nonupgradable RAM makes it less future-proof. Thumbs down at this price, esp. given that a comparable Inspiron 5000 (with 256GB SSD but upgradable RAM) was $100 less just days ago.

Not a deal. Same laptop but with 4GB more Ram (12GB total) is $499 at Costco. Would rather buy it there for the extended warranty anyways, the extra ram is just gravy.

The Costco one is an IdeaPad 4. Big difference in build quality, the 3 is plastic all around and doesn't feel nearly as nice as the 5. The 3 also lacks some features like USB-C Power Delivery and DisplayPort. 5 also has much bigger battery.
