It's a 60 Hz Screen. 4K AMOLED screen over 60 Hz does not exist in Laptops.

Is that right? Why do some say 200-300hz? Always thought that was fishy when good monitors are 140-250

Yes, that is right. Go to the spec section of those 200-300 MHz Monitors or laptops and check whether they are OLED or something else.

Sorry i kinda put 2 questions in one. But for gaming id rather have a 2K screen with higher refresh and response times. Either way, seems like a smoking deal

Aero series is not entirely targeted towards gamers, neither it is a fully targeted towards productivity oriented customers, like XPS 15 or ThinkPad Xtreme series. This is a middle ground between both of them. It retains powerful hardware, especially the GPU department which is far more powerful than XPS or ThinkPad lineup, weight and thickness of a Slim gaming machine, hence providing very solid cooling. On the other hand, the display options are actually factory calibrated for high color accuracy and cover color gamut really well.

If you want an AERO 15 Gaming then there is actually option for a 144 Hz or 240 Hz 1080p Panel. But this model has the 4K AOLED display which is mainly geared towards productivity and editing works. This has unmatched color gamut coverage, above average brightness which helps those kind of workloads.

It's a productivity laptop where you can look like a massive dork with it. At 4.4lbs, I wonder if the cooling solution can even keep up with the 3080.

I mean probably, it's typically going to be under <100W. I suspect that you will experience some throttling if both the CPU and the GPU both ramp up at the same time in a situation that places heavy demands on both.

For anyone that's salivating over that RTX 3080, you'll probably get comparable gaming performance by picking a 140W+ RTX 3070

Im ready to buy a 3080 lappy but man the manufactures are making it hard.

I want 17.3". Ok Gigabyte has what I want, O wait their 1080p screens. Da fuk, a 3080 17.3 with a 1080p screen.

"YEA BUT ITS 300Hz!" Not everyone play fortnite Mr. laptop manufactures.

Looked at alienware 17x. Looks great and has a good screen but over priced and doesnt have have num pad.

MSI does have what I want but when you go up one cpu level the price jumps way up.

So far looks like Im going with the Eluktronics Promethius 17. You lose out on more modern ports and its not the cpu Id like to have but price to performance, no other company beats it.

Ive had great luck with my evoo 17.3" with rtx 2060 so not scared of smaller brands.

It has a RTX 3070 115W, up to 130W with Dynamic Boost. It is not a RTX 3080 obviously but compared to the 90W + 15W RTX 3080, this higher powered RTX 3070 will perform almost similar.
