A OnePlus fanboy still rocking a 6t with a s20 (sold off the 7t and 8) will simply ask folks to stay away from the op products roll they sort out the SW issues and approaches. They settled simply - horrible phone company doing outright planned obsolescence with limited SW bandwidth to support and locking down HW through SW. And did I mention there camera still sucks in compassion to other flagships.
very compassionate post

Focus on the device not the politics. Everyone collects data and information. Move on
Or choose to focus on everything. And HOW the data gets used speaks volumes especially when its used to arrest, convict and suppress people.

You're more than welcome to make your own choices and move on as well.

I would think that the device would need to be on some sort of network. Either T-Mobile's, a T-Mobile MVNO, or via WiFi in order to unlock.

If someone could chime in with the definitive process that would be really great for all of us who are trying to do this.
I unlocked it without my SIM card in the phone. hope that helps!

Thank you for posting this up! I do have a question... Should I remove the SIM to do this? Put my (AT&T) SIM in it, or keep the T-Mobile SIM that it comes with in it when I follow your process? Thank you!
Keep the TMO sim, since over the network they need to validate you too..
its just 2 mins process

I'm still rocking a 6t but really want a new phone... it works fine but definitely struggles with a few things these days. But I hate that they use a curved screen on the 8, because that's my lease favorite feature of the 6t.
Few months ago I had to send my Pixel 4 XL for a battery repair (randomly stopped charging), so I switched to my old 6T temporarily. I honestly felt the phone was very snappy and it performed as well as my pixel 4 XL. The camera was not bad (though not as good as Pixel). I think it's a pretty good phone even now - unless you're into high graphics games.

For those getting an error ("request too frequent") trying to input the OP's voucher in the app, input it on the website first while you're logged in to apply the code to your account. Then hop back to checkout using the app and it'll apply the $50 off properly.

Love my one plus eight. The only reason I upgraded from my 6t was because I got this phone for like $100 with all kinds of discounts so it was a great deal and anyone attracted this phone just got a bad phone because it's as fast as the day that I got it the war charger is unbelievable. Battery lasts a very long time and I'm a heavy user. Everything about this phone is wonderful. I've had every type of phone including Samsung's which after 6 months are slow as hell and there's nothing you can do about it. My 6t which I gave to my daughter when I upgraded is still just as fast as it was on day one and that's about 3 years ago now. One plus phones are the best phones out there. The only thing that I'll say negative is that they used to be budget priced and now they're basically full priced but if you can get a good deal like this one it's totally worth it! 👍🤙

One more thing is the camera is passable but not the greatest but with the gcam it's as good as any phone camera.

Got my 8 today and absolutely love it. It is an upgrade from my OP6. Oxygen OS is the best and the phone is really fast. I only take occasional photos so the subpar cameras do not bother me much. The 90hz screen is a big jump from my old 6. Now I can experience the T-MOBILE 5G network with the 8. I love my 6 too. It is still working flawlessly, but it is going to my wife to replace her iPhone 6S. $300 is a steal for the 8!
