This laptop or step up to Intel 11th generation, 1TB SSD, 4K display, 3200 MHz ram, for $150 more after $200 rebate? It's a good value question to think about.

seems like every gaming laptop deal is on these Gigabyte laptops. I haven't had any experience with Gigabyte laptops since back in the core2duo days I think. Anyone have one of these newer Gigabyte gaming laptops that can comment?

I think for the additional SSD Space and 4k display it's already worth $150 more but the next gen CPU on top? Definitely go 11th gen.

one more good thing about the 11th gen is it comes with win10 pro instead of home. Which means you get a free upgrade to windows 11.

Give and take as there is no 144hz on the 4k version. Depending on your preference for gaming the 144hz on a lower res may be more desirable

oh good point, didn't notice that. I wonder if you got the 4k model and ran it at 1080p if you could bump up the refresh like you can in many monitors? If so it might at least be 75hz or higher in 1080p.

Unlikely, limitations in hardware aren't modular like that. It's peak capabilities are not due to processing, but rather the hardware itself

I had an Aero 15X awhile ago with the 1070. It ran great. Battery life was huge (10ish hours while web surfing). Build quality was nice. This is a "thin/light" gaming laptop so it'll probably run a bit on the hot side. I can't speak for this model but my Aero was very easy to upgrade SSD/Memory.

What is the max power draw for the 3070? If it is the Max-Q of the old days, the 3070 is really limited. Not sure about the Max-Q designation for the 3000 series RTX GPUs.

According to this: https://www.gigabyte.com/WebPage/784/, it's a 80W with 100W Max.
