I have been search for one of these for a while. Please note the sustained wattage (2200 watts). Typically the quiet four-stroke inverter generators in this class put out 1800 watts sustained but surge to 2200-2300. This is critical if you're trying to power an RV's rooftop AC unit. I also own an A-iPower 2300 (1800 sustained) generator and it does NOT have enough to run my camper's AC unit even with a Micro-Aire EasyStart installed. This Westinghouse 2300/2500 unit WILL work. This is a great price too.

I purchased this from Lowes for the same price when it was on sale there. The venting for the gas cap isn't perfect, so if it doesn't run, you may have the cap screwed on too tight.

The only other minor complaints: no easy access carb drain/fuel shutoff. Make sure to run non ethanol gas for long term reliability. Lack of 12v output for 12v accessories/battery charging.

Like a previous poster said, it's rated for 2200w continuous, which is the most I've seen for generators this size. I can run a portable AC and the fridge for 2 gallons of gas a day, perfect for emergencies. I've got an interlock kit and a generator inlet plug for it to power most of the circuits in the house for hurricane season.
I got the lower model 1800/2000W last year for $300 but returned due to a problem in starting up. Then I switched to a dual fuel model by a different brand for around $400 after coupon and discount. I strongly recommend getting a dual fuel inverter generator.

It comes down to minimum supplied power. Seems like this specific Westinghouse labeled inverter is in a category between the 1800W sustained ones (commonly labeled as 2000-2500W) and the 3000-3500W ones which really put out 2600-3000W sustained. The surge power ratings on these are wet dreams. After reading countless articles on these "Chonda" powered gen sets, if you want one with an accurate power rating, buy a genuine Honda or Yamaha. A-iPower does sell a piece of crap that is Yamaha powered but the electronic guts are crappy A-iPower garbage.

You run this 2200 hooked up to your house? What kind if appliances do you power? Just essentials?

Something this sized is more appropriate for camping. To "run a house" I would opt for a 5000+ watt inverter unit to handle a freezer and refrigerator starting up along with the demands of a furnace. I personally own a legacy General 7550W "10,000 Surge Watts" unit that will run two refers, a freezer, well pump, and HVAC. Note that if everyone of those items were to startup at the exact same time the generator would overload.

If you have a serious issue with power loss, but a permanent natural gas or propane unit from Generac or Briggs & Stratton. They are around $1500 for the entire kit on the low end and easily into the $15k range if you get a GE system like my parents have. The automatic power transfer system is EASY to wire by anyone with a basic understanding of electrical handiwork. It takes around 15-20 seconds to go online. Obviously anything critical should be on a UPS to avoid the brief outage time.

Just the essentials. All of our lights are LED. Fridge, freezer, and window AC for longer outages, router and internet. Main A/C and dryer are 240v, so they're out.

The 2200w continuous is great.

I'm pretty sure it will run our 700watt microwave, too. Just haven't tried.

Get extended warranty policy for added $40. People buying this kind of machine are inexperienced, don't be fooled by worthless and useless specs and reviews.

This will work on your RV AC with, or without the EasyStart?

I would imagine he has 2 of these running in parallel since the AC is likely 30A but I might be mistaken. I know this wouldn't run the AC on my 30' TT without 30A output.

Also don't be fooled by "Westinghouse".

"Westinghouse" is not Westinghouse.

I have two sump pumps that I want to power up with a generator when power goes out. One is a half horse and the other is a third horse. I know this comes out to about 600 Watts so this generator should be plenty for that. But how about the startup current for the motors? Anyone knows how to size a generator for motors? Thanks
