This model was well discussed in the 5500U version of this same computer that Costco is still selling too.

RAM is 3200mhz per Lenovo and verified by my own check on the computer in front of me, not 2666mhz. 4GB of ram is soldered, and 8GB is a removeable sodimm. I don't know that anybody has posted actually replacing the 8gb chip with a 16gb or 32gb, but the CPU supports up to 2x 32gb so it should be good to go. You'll only get partial dual channel though, 2x4gb regardless of the size of the second chip you put in there.
HDMI 1.4b will support 1440p monitor at 60hz, despite a mistaken Tom's Hardware forum post from 10 years ago.
FYI: Floridians, our tax holiday ends tonight at midnight! This applies to the first $1,000 of the sales tax price of personal computers or personal computer-related accessories.

This apparently has to be requested through Costco , see this page [costco.com]:

does anybody have suggestions on pen/stylus that works on this laptop?

this will be for a first grader doing work on the screen. last year was horrible using his fingers to draw/write on a 10" touchscreen.

looking for something with a tip that is say 1.7mm. the pencil eraser sized stylus is a bit big and imprecise. i have ordered 3 different types of active stylus from amazon(1 for ipad and 2 for wacom/dell/hp) and noned worked on the ideapad. the wacom type worked on a dell inspiron but no bueno on the ideapad.

may be interested in the capacitive tips that have a round disk? but would like to hear some experiences.

thanks!

Try taking it out of your cart, logging out, then open an incognito tab on your browser, log into Costco, find the laptop, and try to checkout. Hopefully that works!

You have to chat with a live rep. I had to wait for 15 - 20 minutes to connect and they were able to send me a code after I asked them. I did tell them that I was planning a big purchase and initially asked for the $100 off $500 coupon.

They did take a few minutes to review the account before issuing the coupon code so definitely YMMV.
I followed sharknado7's advice. I asked a Live Chat rep for a $100 off $500 coupon. They said while they no longer have the $100 off $500, they could offer me $50 off $500. She generated a code for me and it worked!

Yeah, I did the same. I asked for a 100 off 500 and they said they didn't have that one and only had a 50 off 500. I asked for the 50 off 500 code and they generated it for me. They also said if you had an order number they can credit the account. Thanks for the advice guys.

The 5700u (Zen 2), unlike the 5600u or 5800u (Zen 3) is an older generation of Ryzen.
Not worth it to me.

Does anyone have any idea why they still include USB 2.0 ports? Isn't USB 3 always backwards compatible? I just don't get it...
Model segmentation. You need to go up a class for USB 3.0 and USB C with PD and Display port.

I tried that. I also tried ordering from mobile and from my mom's PC with her own membership account. No success. I called Costco and they tried to order for me over the phone and even THEY got an error and couldn't check out and send it to me. I'm supposed to get a call back in half an hour. We'll see if anything changes...

I got this one, after trying it for a few hours, I decided to send it back. The color is washed out, wifi card isn't good so I'll have to swap to an Intel one myself, and most important, the touchpad is worse than my 4yo Lenovo. I primarily use touchpad but this one makes a funky tapping noise while other laptop feels solid and no noise. It bugs the heck out of me.

Been messing with it for the past day or so. So far so good. Quality is a little different than the old Dell inspiron I have. Keyboard have to get use to since there is a num pad on it.

WIFI seems with no trouble as other claimed - 282mbps down / 228 up

I thought screen should be brighter, but maybe I didn't plug it in (at full setting), still decent color/sharpness.

Ran FFXIV bench and got a score of 4072 listing to be average performance.

Using CPU-Z bench results - Multi-thread testing is much better than i7-7700 @ 4.2ghz but worst on a single CPU thread.
