This model was well discussed in the 5500U version of this same computer that Costco is still selling too.

RAM is 3200mhz per Lenovo and verified by my own check on the computer in front of me, not 2666mhz. 4GB of ram is soldered, and 8GB is a removeable sodimm. I don't know that anybody has posted actually replacing the 8gb chip with a 16gb or 32gb, but the CPU supports up to 2x 32gb so it should be good to go. You'll only get partial dual channel though, 2x4gb regardless of the size of the second chip you put in there.

HDMI 1.4b will support 1440p monitor at 60hz, despite a mistaken Tom's Hardware forum post from 10 years ago.

I was hoping this laptop would work well for us here at the church, but I took it out of the box yesterday and tried to get it connect to WiFi - but it didn't even give us the ability to connect at all. Everything was enabled in the BIOS and I downloaded the most recent drivers, but nothing. It's got to be returned unfortunately.

The AMD cpu also has a lower TDP which will help it run cooler than the Intel, and be more power efficient.

I talked directly to Lenovo last night. They recommended either taking it back to Costco or shipping it in for service. It's on its way back already.

Anyone else not a fan of this trackpad? Maybe the MacBook has spoiled me but this one feels unresponsive and hard to use.

Same here, not a fan. The whole pad clicks, I am used to the bottom clicking on my Dell inspiron, but not the whole thing. It just makes it feel cheap. The build quality is not great, lots of plastic, which is to be expected at this price point, but the CPU... Wow! This thing is amazing!!!! Coming from a 3rd gen ryzen 7 mobile this, wow! I booted up Asphalt 8 just to see how the vega graphics would handle it, set to extreme in the graphics settings, and it kept up no problem! It was only running at about 70%, granted the display is only 60hz, but still on a mobile cpu with built in graphics I am beyond impressed!
I am still debating about the trackpad, it is one of those things I may want to upgrade for. But, a 5th gen Ryzen is definitely a keeper.

Interesting: the USB-C in this laptop can be used to connect to Ethernet Cable for wired internet connection. Thought only for transferring file data. WIFI speed gets to 500 in my home.

Ideal laptop for our college kid. Can play some games, but, not a gaming laptop Smilie

No matter what yo do , DO NOT upgrade the bios via lenovo vantage. 50-50 chance it'll brick your computer. I had to physically disconnect the battery and reconnect it to get it to work again . Even then my Bios is f'd . Like I can't change or save any settings.

I still don't get why all these Ryzen are shipping with HDMI 1.4b. Really limit the home office usage to 1080p monitor.
You want to buy a great budget laptop, but expect premium components at this price level?

When did HDMI 2.0 became a premium "components". It's something the chipset already support. Maybe learn a thing or two about computers before running your mouth.
