Buy this from Lowes, don't open it, and take it back to the store you paid full price from.
Done.
Actually it is controlled by indoor temp more so unless you get to COLD temps but that is something you'll really be confused by. If you really want the unit to run at full power, then set the temp to much lower than you truly need and this SOB will run at 100% to archive that setpoint.
Why would it? Do you like ice on your coil?
So low power = low cooling? Man, this sure is complicated. Does high power = more cooling? Help me...having trouble here.
And 1500w of a crap AC compressor uses much more power, which costs much more money. Also an inverter motor will not have the same inrush current so the wattage will never really peak....which is also the point.
OMG....
Why would you want 12,000 BTU's if you didn't need it? You'll satisfy the air temperature BUT your humidity will be out of control still causing you to be uncomfortable and being bad for your house. Not to mention the extra $$$ you'll spend to achieve a poorer standard of indoor air quality.
Unless you actually need the 12,000 BTU's and then that fancy board will run this bad boy at 100%.
Please no one listen to this nonsense....

You need to have extra gasket material on hand to put below it. Its the only downfall each year. the 2 grooves the a/c has that sits on the bracket leave gaps and the gasket they give you won't help.... buy yourself extra gasket up front and have it ready. i paid $500 when they first came out.
