Time to make an awesome go cart!
Me and my father can finally build that gocart we always wanted. Just have to dig him up first.
The Kohler is more powerful and has a 3 year warranty where the HF engine has only a 90 day warranty (2 years for emissions control system). I'd go with the Kohler.

I scored one for $135 in Madison North Carolina. You have to add it to you cart for the local price to show up. Once you get there you can search stores with inventory by zip code. Hope this helps.

I was wondering whats the model # you guys got from store. I got one with CH270-3011 which is different than CH270-3152 from the website. they are on sale as well
I got the CH270-3011 for $139.99. Had to drive over an hour each way, but, nice day for a drive. Great deal and it's going on a Troy-Bilt Horse tiller. Thanks OP.

Same here. I pick up the last unit at my local store for 139.99, sticker price at 399.99. Seems like CH270-3011 is the older inventory and it was replaced by CH270-3152. Not sure if there are any physical differences between this 2 model.

This is available to me locally ! Are there places for plans for diy go cart ? Places to buy a frame etc ? I'm good with building , electrical etc if I have a plan . Work on my own cars when I get a chance and have the land to use this if I knew where to start

Edit found this good looking kit :

https://www.gopowersports.com/off...-kart-kit/

But they recommend a higher horsepower engine and sell it for $219

$1300?!? I got mine for free! Needed tires, steering wheel, and pedals and was sitting in storage. Gotta find the deals and willing to put in the elbow grease. There is no wiring as the engine is self-contained. Personally I stick with name brand engines as you can find parts a lot easier. That off-brand stuff makes life a lot harder. That chassis looks nearly identical to mine so most adults should fit in it with a proper seat. Get ready to loosen up a kidney stone or three!

I'm not buying it for 1300 . I've never looked in to this so wasn't even sure they sold frames by themselves. Just did a quick search and found they had a quality video walking through the process . I'm sure I could find a complete working go kart on market place for cheaper than that. I don't mind buying used as like working on small engines and cars and learning new things . Mostly involving riding mowers . I had a riding mower from 1989 that I just recently got rid of . It was my learning tool to fix and keep that ol junker running.

Damn, none in store near me. Drop on replacement for plenty of snowblowers. This is a steal.

Which is better, 208cc 7HP Kohler Command Pro CH270 or Harbor Freight 212cc 6.5 HP Predator, both are around $150 in my area
I know the harbor freight one is a honda clone. They run very well. Easy to start and smooth.

This kohler engine likes a LOT like the harbor freight clone. I think this is also a honda clone.
Might even be the exact same engine

Dang I might look into this. It's 139 local to me and I'm sure is way better than the HF equivalent
Pretty good chance they are the exact same engine.

Anybody that has this available locally and not buying it is crazy. This is a STEAL. I have a Tecumseh 6hp on my "fat kid go-cart" and it used to lug my previously-240lb behind around like it was nothing. I took an extended length go-cart frame and bolted an office chair to it so I could relive my childhood days but not die while doing it. Still have the whole setup. Unfortunately my welder was junk so the plate broke off and the motor is now sitting on the seat but it sure was fun while it lasted. If this was available locally I would definitely upgrade and do it again!
This runs WAY nicer than a tecumseh. It's a honda clone.
