Cheapest MoCa 2.5 adapter by far. Although Frontier branded, works despite your ISP choice.

I bought a pair from this seller before and I had no issues. Buying one more again.

It's bi-directional. You need at least 2, but you can have many. All can "inject" and "extract" data.

ah, that makes sense. so what is the difference between wan (wide area network), lan (local area network), and full?

Wow, if I didn't already have 3 of the nearly identical gocoax models at $60 each, I'd be all over this. This frontier model looks like a rebranded gocoax adaptor, without the internal splitter and tv output. I've had good luck with the gocoax version so these should work pretty well.

If I remember correctly, they are just different frequencies band. I set mine to full and it uses the full spectrum, but you can have it run in either LAN or WAN and have 2 separate networks.

Only 1 left now, damn I needed 3. Good deal though, I'm seeing these for closer to $80 each for other brands.

Can someone explain what these are for? Doesn't ISP give you these for free when you do an install?

I bought and installed a pair of these recently. Highly recommended. Very easy to install and use. Default password was cambridge on my units.

Picked up the last one. Have three of the original gocoax devices from a few years back and they've been rock solid. Wish I could have bought more, thanks OP!

These let you turn your in house coax into a network supporting up to 2.5gbps simultaneously (have seen at least 700/700 between two of these). These are great when you don't want to run cat or are in a place where you can't. If you are only paying for your network (in my case fios) they wouldn't give you these devices for free.

Gocoax sells their stuff on Amazon now and it's not that much more expensive than this branded version (and supports having a tv on it too)

It's been quite awhile since I looked into MoCA - couple questions if you don't mind. What kind of real world throughput are you getting on these? And happen to know if there are any issues connecting to a dumb gigabit switch?

Cable company hooks your house up to cable, and maybe runs some coax in your house. If you're using their stuff it's usually a combo modem/router and they get that up and running as well. Unless you're running a mesh network, I don't think they'd ever have a reason to install these in your house. And if you are, it's probably their equipment that uses a wireless backhaul.

This is useful for people who don't have cat6 wiring in their house, but want their coax jacks to operate like cat6 so they can hardwire ethernet things in other rooms without running new cat6 and without having to use a less efficient wireless backhaul for a mesh network and maybe save some money compared to a higher end tri-band system.

Looks like it's almost twice the price at $114 for (2) and $60 for (1).

I get close to the gigabit limit in the Ethernet ports. I also use a dumb gigabit switch connected to one of them and had no issues whatsoever.

I believe the ISP may give you one to connect your LAN to their WAN. However you can also use these to implement your LAN over coax.
