I've not had good luck lately either. I think Brickseek is just busted these days
Good buys here ...if you can find them at your local store
I typically dont do well at the Walmart YMMV deals though
When I tried looking few weeks ago one of the locations showing in stock 3 of them turned out to have different variant with newer CPU but price was $650 because they combined multiple SKUs under same product or something like that, so ones shown in stock were not the ones in clearance but brickseek was seeing them as such.

this is good info. I didn't even know there was a difference between SKU and UPC! I'm not sure which the employee searched at my store, but perhaps the other would have turned up a result.
3% successfully rates. Walmart deals =mega deals 。

Regarding display/demo units. The electronics manager at my favorite WM told me he couldn't sell demos as long as they are still listed as a active product in their corporate app. We hit this WM at least twice a week and everytime he was there I'd have him check. I was after a iBuyPower desktop i5/1660super. It had been sitting there idling on display since July 2020. App said they were out of stock and yet there it was, still listed as a active product. He also said that was the only one they ever got. He finally wrote down my name and number and stuck it in the price holder thingie. Couple weeks later he calls me, did I still want it. Got it for $150+tax. He even went and found the box for it in the back, still had the packing/KB/mouse. I was a happy man. So some WM managers are very cool and go beyond the scope of their duties. This was like 3 weeks ago.
Manager at one of my stores claimed that they can't sell display units because they are given free from the manuf. and have to be sent back. This after he first claimed they couldn't sell them because customers have accessed them, to which I explained this was a desktop that hasn't been hooked up ever and not one of their display laptops.Total BS. On top of that, the only part on display is the monitor, the computer is still new in the box (never removed).

I bet Walmart associates giggle on the inside every time a shopper says to them, "But BrickSeek says..."

I stopped by my local Walmart just to look around and saw they had the MSI gaming laptop and a Asus Rog Strix on display. They had none in stock of course but I asked for the display models and surprisingly they gave both to me. Got the MSI for $250 and the Asus for $300. I'm not sure how people feel about floor models but these are in awesome shape.

Any 4 core system with 8gb would do, but stay away from the core two duo systems. They cannot handle 4k 60 and would need video cards that are just as expensive as the computer. As it is, check for discrete graphics cards as they will do the best job.

Went to a Walmart in south west Houston close to Beltway 8 and 59 freeway (if you are familiar with the area), two people at the electronics department told me same story 'whatever we have is on the shelf') BS showed 3-4 in stock. and it is still showing the same. .I had better luck with some external drive at the same store a few years a go, found them just sitting on the shelves.

I tried a few times to get computers/laptops at the Walmarts right nearby. I live within 10 minutes of 3.

Managers/employees get them all...and that's fine with me, really.

I was in a Walmart last week, asked for display models and the associate told me no.
