These are pretty much disposable quality.
It doesn't say on the car. The battery is non-removable, inside the vehicle (you'd have to take it apart to access), but I'm guessing NiMH. On the underside there is a compartment that holds the USB charge cord (so you never lose it). I thought it was an odd setup but it's worked exceptionally well.

When he died and went to racing heaven. No kidding, they did a tribute scene.
They changed the rims over those two years but everything else looks the same. I bought it from Target and it was a great deal for the $25 paid.
