Every time I've bought a kids' movie from Redbox, it's scratched to hell and smeared with mystery gunk. I've had about a 50% success rate cleaning and polishing out scratches to get them working. This is from four different kiosks in my city as well so it isn't just one little gremlin on a personal rampage but something that seems to be pretty common. That said, it's a just buck so it's up to you to gamble wisely.

Also appears to be no limit on the number of times you can use this. Just make separate transactions. Looks like the limit is the standard 5 movies / day so load up!

FYI- I just bought a 99 cent disc at the box to see if it would prompt the "Would you like to buy another movie for $2 off? " message, like the previous Redbox deal. But no luck ....at this kiosk anyway, YMMV.

Let's see if I get these this time! Last time my movies were empty cases with a piece of paper with the QR code inside to make the machine think it had a movie inside!

how long do you have to pick up discs after placing order? the FAQ says rentals are charged same day if you don't pick up. is it the same with purchases? and what happens if you get a bad disc or empty case with paper QR code?

Nice post. Too bad I've already bought the movies I'm interested in from the list.

BTW, I've had issues on occasion with used Redbox BR;s as well, but for a buck it's worth a shot.

Got the email this a.m. for this. My own experience with redbox has been good. No phantom paper disc in a case, no broken, cracked, or scratched blu-rays. The only one of that entire lot I had not already bought on Redbox is Wonder Woman '84, so getting that one today.

Do Redbox blu-rays generally have extras like the retail versions, or are they usually movie only?
