I can’t compare the two, but I did recently buy a WMT axemaul and I’ve found that to be very good. The WMT hatchet looks and feels sturdy. Just fwiw. If I ever have the need for a hatchet I’ll probably buy one from WMT.

Just poorly worded.

"These axes are engineered, designed and supported in the USA. The actual fabrication and manufacturing occurs in India under our watchful eye to the highest standards possible."

Looks just like the Fiskars axe with a slightly tweaked handle to avoid copyright infringement:

Fiskars 378561-1004 X11 Splitting Axe, 17-Inch, Black/Orange https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000AQL...NHB0X9570M

Anyone know the story?

The throwing ax place near me uses normal axes, so . . . yes?

In for one, thanks. I've been looking at options locally and this should be perfect for a decent price. First time purchasing a hatchet, the one my Grampa and Dad and my family used often recently came off the ancient hickory handle. Fortunately, no-one was hurt and if I restore it, it will be for display purposes only.

Nah, not really. You need a certain weight in the head to be efficient and accurate. And grips are also important

Seems like it is not working for other sizes. Only works for small one which is good for splitting small logs with diameter of 4-8 inches according to description. I kinda needed medium one.
