Why do they make the deals so complex, it's really annoying
Credit over 36months
All of these "new phone" deals have hidden costs rolled into the plans they want you to sign up for. Speak with an agent and try to get a monthly bill estimate but be aware they lie too.

For example my account with ATT is flagged by CS reps because I'm grandfathered into a sweetheart deal. I get slammed with advertisements to switch and one CS rep even admitted my account was listed to receive special offers.

I pay $100 a month + $10 a line and get 25 gigs shared, hotspot and rollover. The rollover is so good I have never run out of data. The kicker is I have an TimeWarner discount of 30% that gets applied to the $100 service charge. All in I pay about 120 a month for 4 lines for my family.

If I "upgrade" for a new phone, even if I got a "free" $1000 new iPhone 13 pro my bill would jump to about $200 a month because the discount only gets applied to a single $50 dollar line and the plans themselves are just that much more expensive. Even worse, if I upgrade they will not honor the 30% TW discount as it changed. The agent refused to tell me one way or the other if the discount would be honored. I had to "switch to see if it gets applied"

All said an done, the savings on a new phone would evaporate after about a year of the new service and I'm now paying an extra 80 a month forever.

Be wary slick dealers. Don't let new phone sparkle blind you.

I don't know if you ever really get a "deal" with phone companies anymore. I miss the $299, $199, $99 and free phone plans back in the day 🤣

The key word is UP TO. So be advise and best to talk to a live agent or someone that works for att and is competent about this deal. I got screwed over in the past, where they changed my family plan and have taken out my company discount of 30% without my knowledge. Though they reimburse me for the family months the discount wasnt applied. But if i didnt acknowledge it or It would have continued. What's even worst, they would not put that discount back into my account.

Agreed, I hate ATT customer service. I switched over from T-Mobile and over the phone they told me I would get $200 credit per line ported as credit so x3 lines = $600. I explicitly told the rep I wanted this in writing and he said sure he will send it over. I was stupid and didn't wait on the phone for the confirmation. Two months later I never say the credits and tried calling a bunch of times and they just told me they never saw that promo on my account and I don't remember the name of the rep and there was nothing they could do.

Does anybody remember when slick deals used to actually break down the math to show you how it was a slick deal man I must be getting old. All these advertisement posts get confusing now because they're just as confusing as the ads that the company's post.

Had to search the terms "AT&T" and "white" to understand your comment. I will be cancelling our AT&T services. Thanks for posting. As a long time supporter of racial equality, I'm dismayed and disgusted at AT&T's approach.

The port in offer for 200$ ended and iphone 11 pro max tradein value is reduced to 800 which is same as iphone XS.

Does any one know if ATT would give more tradein value / port in 200 would come back as part of blackfriday deals ??

Whats the typical trend with ATT (ba****s) ... since I feel like they reduce the tradein values based on how many new users/upgrade / purchase buy the iphone 13....
as ppl buy they tend to reduce the offer limits...

This now more looks like a bait and switch scheme at least to me.
Here is my experience if it helps. I'm a fiber customer and looking for purchasing three phones with trade-in and two BOYD lines.

Placed the order online twice (each takes about a hour, since their web is extremely slow). Right before submitting, it says I'm going to receive a link to verify my ID which I didn't receive for neither of the orders. And both order get cancelled right after I submitted them saying that they can't verify my ID.

In the cancellation email, they ask me to visit a branch or call if it is not right. So I called and chatted online in the hope that they can restore my orders. In both cases, the agents just simply tries to place another order for me without asking for permission. And when I asked if the online offer (200 for new phone and 250 for BYOD) will be honored when I realized it. Their answer are usually the same that the offer only valid for online order which I'm not qualify for since they are placing a new non-online offer for me.
