JackRabbit [jackrabbit.com] has Altra Superior 4.5 Trail Running Shoe for $52.00

Shipping Is Free | Final Price Reflects In Cart

Choose From:Best For:
  • Surface: Aggressive, Uneven, Rocky Trails
  • Category: Neutral Cushioned - Intended for runners who have a higher, more stable arch that does not pronate excessively(roll inwards) or may even supinate(roll outwards). Neutral Cushioned shoes offer very little or no structure or pronation support and are generally more flexible than stability shoes. Runners who require a neutral shoe tend to notice more excessive wear on the lateral(outside) side of the soles of their running shoes. Neutral shoes can vary from lightweight and minimal cushioning to maximum levels of cushioning depending on the needs and preferences of the runner. Runners with high/stable arches tend to notice pain on the outside(lateral side) of their shins and knees and may also battle plantar fasciitis if not wearing a neutral cushioned shoe.

If you do races with obstacles the holes are perfect for letting water out when crossing a river or going over puddles. I have some with venting holes on the bottom for water.

Yep, my wife has them - they’re vent holes.

Never, ever mistake these for waterproof hiking shoes. These are lightweight and much more comfy than most of those, and work equally well for hiking and trail running IMO.

In for a pair to replace my Lone Peak 4, which was the first pair of Altras I bought. Great quality all around.

They are very good for hiking, except the tread is not the best on wet/slippery rocks...the tread is not vibram. But everything else about the shoe is fantastic for hiking, comfortable, supportive, light, cooling, and very breathable.

Repped! That's the cheapest I've ever bought these (and I had a bonus $10 in Run Rewards that expire in a couple of days, so perfect timing!)

Great deal, I've been using a pair of superior 4.0's since 05.2019 from another deal then. This seems be similar with a slightly tighter fit. I also had the random $10 rewards which dropped the price to $42.

Do they run true to size? I've never tried Altra but have wanted to.

Any Idea how these fit in comparison to something like the Lone Peak 4?

Anyone know how these compare to Timp Trail? My wife uses those for hiking. Thanks.

How is the width on Altras? Nike narrow, normal, or generous? I'm on the line of being wide in many brands and Jackrabbit never has sales on wide.

The width depends on the model. I wear EEE width Allen Edmonds and the Superior 4.0(previous version) fit well on me.
