Platinum is supposed to be a premium credit card - has one of the highest annual fees of any CC, and they add a Walmart benefit? I think Amex is confused and really diluting the brand and product

The new Soulcycle benefit that was also added is completely worthless
They diluted their AMEX Deals too. It used to be only a few but they were all very decent. Now its full of junk from tiny retailers that i've never heard of and takes forever to filter through the garbage.

I admit, i will probably use this Walmart deal but i dont thiink the typical AMEX Plat card holder would ever step foot insiide a walmart.

I hope AMEX dont continue going down the shitter.
Wow, talk about out of touch! I know a handful or Platinum card holders (myself included), and none of them would have any qualms with shopping at Walmart.

Maybe thats their strategy. This deal is for folks who never want to "step their foot inside walmart" by providing free deliveries on everything.

I'm not a regular Walmart customer by any mean. However, this Walmart+ free membership actually offers a way for me to buy groceries from them which have better price compare to other stores.

It also nice to order something that you need in 2 days since Amazon abandon their Prime shipping promise and fill with tons of garbage lately.

I do a fair amount of spending and travel. It's easy for me to justify a Chase Sapphire Reserve for $550. I would really be reaching to justify the return on the Amex Platinum.

Not a Platinum holder but was a Gold Amex holder up until a few months ago. Cancelled it. Got tired of paying $250 for what equated to nothing during the pandemic and prior. Diluted brand that I can't see why anyone would pay $700 for an annual fee ever, for the privilege of having a card.

I started this subscription on 10/7, and just got my second charge of $14.18, but I haven't gotten a statement credit yet. Anyone else having this issue?

Also noticed and signed up for

Peacock PP $5 (comcast user)
SiriuxXM $6 for 12 month
NYTimes $4 for 12 month

So, pretty much free for all....

They said it would take a couple of statements for the credit to kick in.

I'm in store. Really long line, scan and go still making me wait on line. At Sam's club you just scan and leave, show receipt at door

It was quite a bad experience the line was super long and it did not recognize my scan and go code so I had to call for help and then eventually scan every item over. They should have an express line for W+ members

Except...at My Sams Club...where the line just to get out of the store is long as F... as some old lady picks through peoples carts scanning random items. I can spend 5 mins in the "Hey, we need to see if you STOLE something line" at my Sams Club.

Use your Platinum Card to pay for a Walmart+ monthly membership and get the full cost back each month. This can be very useful if you're shopping for hard to find products for the holidays.
