Platinum is supposed to be a premium credit card - has one of the highest annual fees of any CC, and they add a Walmart benefit? I think Amex is confused and really diluting the brand and product

The new Soulcycle benefit that was also added is completely worthless
They diluted their AMEX Deals too. It used to be only a few but they were all very decent. Now its full of junk from tiny retailers that i've never heard of and takes forever to filter through the garbage.

I admit, i will probably use this Walmart deal but i dont thiink the typical AMEX Plat card holder would ever step foot insiide a walmart.

I hope AMEX dont continue going down the shitter.
Wow, talk about out of touch! I know a handful or Platinum card holders (myself included), and none of them would have any qualms with shopping at Walmart.

So I guess there's no way to claim this with a no yearly fee card?

It doesn't make business sense to offer it. Why would they do that?

I dont use walmart + solely because they dont pay their own drivers and instead contract it out to door dash or others. So I would then have to factor in tipping so at this point it's too much hassle.
Typical Walmart, just like them refusing to pay their workers a living wage. This puts most employees on government assistance. Then we, the taxpayers subsidize walmart in order that they can make billions.

I'm not going to defend WM because you're pretty much right on the money regarding pay. I will point out, however, that I live in NYC, and all WM+ shipments are sent to me via Fedex or UPS rather than using Doordash, since there is no WM within the city.

I think its on personal side. I do not see this on biz plat card.

The quality of AMEX offers, Its Cent.lounge, food and drink quality is going down so fast. The fee is going up and up. Way too may people in Denver lounge. Not sure how people is still justify paying $695 in fee. Next, year you can't bring additional guest unless 75K in spending.

I need to get out of this card and move onto Capital one.

What does Capital One do for lounges

The 75k is good if you travel alone, make less crowded

Outside of slickdeals, how many Amex Platinum Members are big Walmart Shoppers? I just dont understand what Amex is doing with the Plat card lately.
My thoughts exactly and the very reason I dumped the Platinum card. It's become a very useless card. The Gold card is far more useful than the Platinum card and it's about 1/3 the fee. The lounges access is only for 2 people so if you have a family it's worthless.

Yeah I'm probably dumping the card after 1 more year ........the centurion lounge has no more free guest access(50$ each) past 1/31/23 unless you spend 75k in a year....

Definitely have been making more purchases at Walmart since this benefit started. Longer return policy than Amazon is a plus.

I attanded a presentation and its mentioned that 75% of Amex customers shop at Walmart. Apparantly you never know who buys what at Walmart.

Great deal. I got 50% off on my current Walmart plus membership from my Gold card. Walmart plus provides a great value as most items in Walmart are cheaper than on Amazon. They ship even a dollar item for free with plus.

I might end up upgrading my card to platinum, as this deal alone will save me more than $100.
