Platinum is supposed to be a premium credit card - has one of the highest annual fees of any CC, and they add a Walmart benefit? I think Amex is confused and really diluting the brand and product

The new Soulcycle benefit that was also added is completely worthless
They diluted their AMEX Deals too. It used to be only a few but they were all very decent. Now its full of junk from tiny retailers that i've never heard of and takes forever to filter through the garbage.

I admit, i will probably use this Walmart deal but i dont thiink the typical AMEX Plat card holder would ever step foot insiide a walmart.

I hope AMEX dont continue going down the shitter.
Wow, talk about out of touch! I know a handful or Platinum card holders (myself included), and none of them would have any qualms with shopping at Walmart.

I have had Walmart+ through Amex Platinum for a few months now and have found nothing useful. Anything that I like has better price and variety at Amazon. So, I land up shopping at Amazon (despite having no Prime) and still cannot find a reason to use Walmart+.

Even their "free" ship from store has a 35 minimum; else they charge 6.99; and everything that is advertised as 2 day shipping take 5+ once I add them to the cart.

Walmart+ sucks!

Walmart isn't for people who make over 6 figs, which is anyone with this card.

Why are people in the comments trying to profile wealthy people? If they have a Platinum card, they're not shopping at Walmart? People often develop frugal habits and will keep them even when they become wealthy.
  • Warren Buffet ($120B net worth) lives in a $500k house and eats at McDonalds for breakfast regularly
  • Mark Zuckerberg ($114B) used to drive a Honda Fit and Acura TSX a few years ago
  • LeBron James ($1B) uses a free Pandora subscription for his music and still gets ads instead of paying $5 a month for ad-free
  • Keanu Reeves ($380M) still takes the subway and public transit
  • Serena Williams ($250M) still shops at Marshalls and Ross and is proud of her bargain-hunting habits
  • Lady Gaga ($320M) still shops at thrift stores and uses coupons to buy everyday items

Great benefit to have as Walmart has upped its game vs Amazon but still trailing behind. One thing that sucks is that if you want to get the in home delivery upgrade with this, you must also do it monthly at $7. While a yearly subscription is $40. Walmart plus annual is also $98 and often goes as low as $49 for nee or returning subscribers

This thread is pointless because anyone getting the card is always made aware of the benefits for the large fee they are paying.
It's only an OK benefit since I don't see anyone giving up Amazon Prime for Walmart +.
