I'm a father of two and I can tell you that at 3-4 months they can start on liquid soft foods w/ formula. At 6 months with practice they can eat most foods with supervision and no more bottle/formula. Your baby can easily get off formula in 6 months, so get them the best. It's not worth saving $20-50 a month. It's not.
I don't think this information is right. I believe formulas or breast milk is supposed to be the main source of a babies diet for the first year of their life supplemented with a multi vitamin starting at 6 months. The reason for this is they are unable to get all the essential nutrients they need from food as early as 6 months. I can't speak to the quality of Similac but I do know it is highly recommended by doctors and hospitals.

Considering it's used by majority of hospitals and on almost every best baby formula list, I'm guessing you haven't done yours.
I have done my research. So did my pediatrician whom told me any FDA approved formula is fine. Of course nothing beats breast milk but that's not always an option for everyone.
I bought exclusively from Amazon. They come with 3 big cans. I was also worried about fakes, but no issue after 12 months.
Also, what I meant by soft foods at 4 months are things like oat meal, blended smoothie with real fruit, essentially things that don't require chewing and won't choke.

Earths Organic is made from almost the same ingredients but from an organic source. Every baby is different and I'm glad you found something that worked for your baby, but it's silly to say Similac uses cheap ingredients when they are nearly identical
