Burn in is overstated. I've left static images on my C8 up for 5+ hours. No issues, and that's 2 models old.

Biggest question is, anyone have any issues with these refurbished units?
Agreed, the burn in fear is a but overstated- (i am an original adopter of OLED w a b7 series.
Do you understand how Burn in works? Unless this is a store display and on a static menu 24/7 for months...and the burn in settings are turned off. Smh

So in summation…you received nothing in writing. Got it. Kthxbye.
Sounds like someone is bitter for either missing out on a deal, or not having a Microcenter by them to take advantage of this offer.. laugh out loud

It's ok, I understand. "In summation", reading comprehension is not for everyone. Wink He clearly mentions IN WRITING that the "phosphor burn in" in the service contract is not applicable to this TV - meaning that burn in is considered damage that is covered.

You are right, I made it all up. Wow, how pathetic can someone be. Like I am going to list mine and the stores email & names.

I get it, you couldn't get the deal. It's OK, you will have to learn to deal with it. Wink

flynreelow's logic.

*Random post on forums about Microcenter OLED burn in not being covered by extended warranty* - "I believe them and I will upvote anyone who agrees with me!"

*Store confirms it's covered* - "Wow - you removed their email addres so you must be lying!"

What's the major difference between the CX and Sony A80J? Considering buying the brand new one 65" from Costco or Verdetoe for $1984 or $1650 respectively. A 77" OLED for $2k which is a little more than a 65" seems like a pretty good price. I mostly will be watching movies and tv shows on it with a Panasonic ub820k or 4k torrents. Don't care for console gaming.

Anyone have the dimensions of the box? I am wondering if it would fit in my Murano. Also a little concerned about picking it up because I would need to drive over 1hr to bring it home since the closet Microcenter is pretty far.

Yeah that is what I was thinking. Maybe using some plywood and then the TV on top tied down to the roof rack, but that seems risky.

True, then I could sit the TV upright, which I would feel would be much less risky. I know the weight from sitting flat is not good for the glass,.since it could crack. My BIL has a truck I could borrow as well.

Just picked up one in Chicago, the last one. It had 94 hours of use. I'll take that!

Signed up for the credit card to get 5% cash back and added the 3-year extended warranty WITH screen protection for $299. Came out to ~$2380 after tax. By the way, the 3-year extended warranty DOES NOT cover burn it even thought I had some MC reps tell me that it does and some that it doesn't. I doubt there will be burn in issues with 94 hours of use so i'm feeling good. Upgraded from a lovely 55" Panasonic Plasma I got in 2011 for $750 at Costco.

Good deal for me.

you will love the TV. I was rocking my Panasonic 65VT60 before upgrading the the OLED.

I would have never thought the picture would be that much better than the panny plasma, but boy was I wrong.

Thanks for the clarification on the warranty. Im not scared of burn in, and you shouldnt be either.

What did you do with the Plasma TV?

I have a 58" Plasma bought in 2006 still going strong. But it weighs 125 lb. Since I don't know how to get rid of that, I have not been buying a new one.

I still have it. looking to sell it to some that understands how good of a TV it really is.

The only downside to the plasma is the power consumption. Display is the only thing I used it for. Sound is through external receiver + speakers. For apps it's better not to depend on the TV and change it as often as needed - Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV or Roku.
