Burn in is overstated. I've left static images on my C8 up for 5+ hours. No issues, and that's 2 models old.

Biggest question is, anyone have any issues with these refurbished units?
Agreed, the burn in fear is a but overstated- (i am an original adopter of OLED w a b7 series.
Do you understand how Burn in works? Unless this is a store display and on a static menu 24/7 for months...and the burn in settings are turned off. Smh

Just picked mine up from the Tustin store. Rented a home depot truck to get it home, transported it flat screen side up with no issues. Got it home, mounted on the wall, plastic was still covering the screen so we got to do the oh so satisfying peel. Checked the hours, still set at zero, so I basically got a brand new TV. I opted for the 4 year no questions asked warranty through microcenter for $279. The guy who sold it to me said if I want to bring it back within those 4 years for any reason they'll just give me store credit for the price of the TV with tax that I can use for an upgrade then if I want to. Great deal and the TV looks amazing!

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't know the OLED has an art feature, is it just the LG that does? The PQ of the art mode on The Frame isn't that impressive. I wonder if the LG OLED art mode is more convincing.
the art mode on the oled is really really good. Drop the backlight down as much as you can and it looks nice enough. In a well lit room it looks good once there's no glare on the tv. Personally i've never had a reason to use the tv for art, but my wife loves that feature of the frame. What's amazing about the LG oled is that it simulates the picture frame and because it's oled, and has no light bleed, the "frame" of the picture looks really really legit.

They do some wizardry that makes it look like a 3d frame.

But again, i don't trust it for artwork because of the burn in chance. The picture changes, but if i like art, i don't want it changing every 3 mins.

What did it cost for the home depot truck rental?

The Costco visa extended warranty does NOT cover anything used, or previously owned. I had a big fight with them over a factory refurbished receiver and didn't get any traction with them.
How do they identify if the TV is refurbished or purchased new?

About $60, all depends on how long you need the truck for.

Well that's a good question. In my case it was on the receipt.

Too bad. I was assuming that'll be overlooked if I ever needed to claim with credit card warranty.

I have reserved one in Virginia and have until Friday to pick up. Hard to decide if it's better to pickup from Costco for $2499

Thanks! It'll be more if i have to return for some reason. I'm starting to think maybe it isn't worth it.

That's always a risk, but I'd say probably. I don't know about their other locations, but the Tustin store is always packed.

I just got back from Microcenter . Mine came in original LG box. TV is perfect right out the box. It has 38 hours on it. Haven't adjusted the settings yet.

Total out the door for me was $2056 with 3 years warranty with screen protection. There IS a health care discount. Saved $150 off the $1999 and the 3 year warranty with screen protection was $138 instead of $299. Tax was $61 in NJ. Total $2056. This is a damn great deal!!! Microcenter has been around for years so I trust that it'll be here for many more.

Just picked up mine from Micro Center in Duluth, GA. It came in the original LG box, but I haven't checked it out yet. Much appreciated for whoever suggested Upsie for the extended warranty.

There is no such thing as a refurbished LG TV. No manufacturer refurbishes their TVs. Retailers cannot refurbish TVs and they do not even say what constitutes a refurbished TV. Only Apple offers factory refurbished products at their own website. This is last years model and may be a customer return. You are better off buying current models when they are on sale with their original factory warranties.

I broke down and picked one of these up.

Original box, taped up. Came 100% complete with no dents or scratches that I've found.

There are two dark pixels that are not visible to me more than a few feet away, and two small areas where it looks like there is air between the glass and the screen, sort of like what you get with bad phone screen protector installation. Oddly enough, I've tried every combination of color on screen and light in the room and can't see them when the TV is on, only under bright light when the set is off at just the right angle. Back in my younger days the pixels would have bothered me but I guess my OCD is getting better. UI shows 37 hours and the screen uniformity is perfect. So from more than about 3 feet away, it's functionally perfect to me. If it had any banding or clouding it would be going back for sure, those artifacts still drive me nuts.

I'm guessing mine was a customer return for these issues, but with the total price with the 3 year comprehensive warranty being competitive with new deals, I think I'm going to keep it. I figure if either problem spreads I'll warranty it, or depending how you look at it I've effectively got the option to warranty it whenever. I don't see getting a better deal with a good warranty before my 30 day return window runs out but will be watching.

Not looking to argue about the issues either way, just letting people know what I got.

Sorry for the super late response, but unless there is an option I am not aware of, Upsie explicitly states in their contract that they do not cover refurbished televisions.
