i would get the 5% promotion the day after spending nearly $1000 😒

FYI, if you check out using Paypal and use Chase Freedom/Flex card you will get 5% cashback from Chase up to $1,500 combined purchases. Also, Stormx gives 1.6% cashback for Ebay purchases. You can get a total of 11.6% cashback if you qualify for 5% eBay bucks😁
please do explain.

5% from ebay, 5% from chase, and 1.6% from Stormx, all stack as they use total purchase price.
Boy, I just love getting $20 in rewards each quarter now, instead of the $500 I used to get.

I haven't qualified for any eBay offer in what feels like forever. It's been at least two years if not longer. Would love to know what the algorithm was.

Whether you are a seller, buyer, both, long or short term has nothing to do with it as best I can tell. What they use for their algorithm to determine who qualifies for a given offer is anyone's guess, but it probably has more to do with their perceived ability to get you to buy some junk somewhere on their site than it is on how good a customer you have been imo. They really could not care less how much you bought or sold in the past imo. If they did, they would not be driving customers away in droves with their high fees and customer hostile policies.
For the last 20 years, I have mostly bought versus sold. However, the scales have tipped now that the ebucks program has changed. Ever since I stopped buying, I have yet to get the 5% offer... coincidence??

No luck on my end either.

Does Ebay ever offer sellers any promos on their final value fees? I know they used to but I haven't received one in years. The fees of 13-14% on larger ticket items is simply way too high. I used to get a $10 or $20 final value fee but haven't seen one in forever.
Agree. Looking at other options, killing profits.

On a lot of new items, Amazon has competitive or better prices than eBay (unless it's the slow boat from China). eBay was fantastic back when people could pay with checks. I made a ton of sales back then. It's progressively gotten worse and worse to sell anything there. Today I wouldn't even bother. Too much hassle too little reward. eBay is mostly about Chinese drop shippers today.
Welcome to globalization.

Amazon's search engine is a complete disaster.

I can't find anything I want, so I rarely shop there.
I only buy things on Amazon when animal rescues have their wishlist there.
Increasingly I have been telling the animal rescues that Chewy is better and faster and sometimes cheaper.

I don't get it, I got a notification in the ebay app about the 5% ebay bucks, but the link says I don't qualify.
