Its just a matter of look I guess as a full front screen cover gives it a more original look as if there are no covers. I have used cutoff screens before and I like the look of a full cover better.
These are more expensive yes, but better quality and cover the entire screen including the notch.
EDIT: I've used full-screen protectors for years, ZERO problems. And now they're on sale.

The notch contains the front facing camera, infrared camera and several sensors. An extra layer of glass over the notch may potentially interfere with the speed of Face ID, clarity of selfies and other features. Although it says Face ID still works, I'd be a little concerned.

I gave up after several attempts with Supershieldz protectors. Put one on and work out all the bubbles and everything appears well. But then you snap the inner layer of the case on and the screen protector pops/lifts back up off the screen.
I bought the same ones for my wife's iPhone last week and no complaints from her, trust me I'd have known right away!

Exactly! I even asked my wife if she removed her screen protector off her iPhone and she said no way! I could barely tell it had a screen protector on!
