This works with triangles as well right? I almost bought some of these as a gift last year and believe the Shapes series was the recommended line because it was more versatile/compatible than the Canvas.

As long as you have the "Shapes" Triangles. I believe the originals — later sold with the Rhythm module — are not compatible with the Shapes line.
Last Black Friday, Nanoleaf's US Shop had these at 30% off (without bundling in a remote too). That said, I have about 20+ of these suckers and really enjoy them.
As annoying as the clumsy app and apple home integration are, these are still a fun and surprisingly practical lighting option for an office or media room. They are truly blindly bright and vivid and their setup may force some creativity out of you.

Are you saying every product was a flat 30% off? That would be slightly better, but no telling if the same deal comes around. Apparently there is an event/announcement tomorrow at 1 pm EDT as well so I kind of want to wait to see if a better deal pops up but if not this one might be gone by then.
Man, I really want some of these but just cannot justify the price.. They are super expensive for what they are.
Just buy some regular ol led strips and make you own diffusion panels using parchment paper, a white top sheet cutting, or frosted shower curtains, frame them (leave a hole for the led cable power source to got through), and voila. You could even stick magnets in there for easy snapping.
Or as another user mentioned, the clone products are pretty much the same. There is nothing really special about these light panels and they really shouldnt be so expensive. They prey on idiots and their money.

Can always take the risk and get then from a chinese supplier like aliexpress/alibaba for a fraction of the cost
The ones from the Chinese suppliers are two to three times as thick. From somebody who's gone through most of the stock on Alibaba I'm speaking from experience.
