It is a bit of a downside but for anyone who isn't as familiar with hardware and just want to game: I have the same cpu and gpu in a slightly different system which I use to play at 1440p. At 1440p you're pretty well off, because it lowers how many frames the gpu can put out anyway, so a weaker processor is actually less of a problem since you're still gpu bottlenecked. There is one single game this gpu/cpu setup left me where I wasn't gpu bottlenecked so a beefier processor could have helped, and that was New World. And even then it's only in towns but it's still perfectly fine. Anyone who has played New World knows that any cpu kinda struggles when you hit a crowded town. This cpu is extremely solid for gaming, especially when you consider that to find a pre built with a better processor you are actually looking at adding about 300 dollars to the build, which is already the price of an i7. And that's a bad value. So I'd say this is the way to go. You might point to the 11400f in a similar deal, but the 11th gen of processors offers hardly any performance benefit over the same model. You'd need 10600k, or 11600k, or i7 to actually see benefits.

It was this model with a bunch of things tweaked on it, but the exact sale I got is no longer active - they had a free upgrade from 3060 to 3060 ti a couple times in the past month, which I got, so thought it might be worth keeping an eye open for.

You likely wouldn't me mining w the cpu. Just the graphics card. It's likely LHR so figure 25MH. ROI would be a while though. If you are wanting to mine, founders editions are not crippled on ETH

Is a 3060ti gonna give adequate performance in flight simulator 2020 at 1440p? Something around 60 fps? I have a 5800X system I could shuck this card, throw it in my existing one and put in a spare RX570 and resell it as a "gaming PC" lol

It is not going to hit 60fps in MSFS at 1440p on the highest settings, but it can definitely hit it at 1440p with a few compromises.

Excluded from non-LHR variants, because all TIs are now LHR (except Founders Edition 3060TIs). 70TI and 80TI were always LHR so you wont see any listings or manufacturers boxes listed as LHR, because they always were.

This! Look up tweaking guides online, for example, turning down volumetric cloud quality improves performance quite a bit without a significant difference in visual fidelity. I have a 3060Ti and play cyberpunk with tweaked setting with DLSS on and get 100+ FPS in 1440p (with ray tracing off!). Good luck!
