I basically did the order again and it went through. You can also try to do it with a different web browser or incongnito in Chrome.
I also called customer service and asked them to "hold my hand" while I place the order over the internet... that way if you really can't do it, they would do it for you and most likely wave the $30.00 fee.
GOOD LUCK.
I am grandfathered into the 55+ plan (main line is in my mother-in-laws name) and pay $60.00 for unlimited everything BUT only have hotspot on 3G speeds... I think there is software that can fix this.
I have 5 HOROR stories with T-Mobile, two of them are when I purchased a new phone with a promo... one of them was for my Oneplus 6, another was for the Samsung S20 FE, I had a defective sim card that did not attach to their "partnership" towers (god knows how long I suffered) and I was unable to make long distance calls in Canada and could not connect to 611 until I was back in the US... called them up and they told me something was not activated correctly on their end. And finally, when I went to purchase the OnePlus 6, I went to a store with my driver license and I had my passport and credit cards ect... and they refused to sell me a phone saying that they do not sell phones to people with out of state driver licenses... I was on a business trip and it was the last day to trade in "any" OnePlus phone for the OnePlus 6... called customer service, they even spoke to the store... and they just ordered the phone for me AND that is when the nightmare really happened.
If you can DO NOT order the phone through customer service and use the website.
My issue is, when everything works T-Mobile is amazing and I can't find my plan for the price I pay anywhere (need a phone that I can use in Canada).
You must have put in the wrong specs when they asked you questions about cracked screen, water damage and power on.
When I did my order I made the mistake and I was offered $40.00... did it again and I got my $450
They have there issues but in my experience it wasn't that bad getting them fixed.

edit. I traded in a a71 5g for 450. breakdown is 75 one time statement credit 375 over 24months
pixel 3xl for 300 breakdown 9 one time statement credit 291 over 24 months.
this is my understanding of the promo any one else can confirm?
It's not giving 300 credit. It's showing $0 and monthly due 25.
If yes, how does the trade in credit applies (over the 24 months period)? Is it just for my new line, OR to entire group's bill?
Thanks.
However, on my purchase receipt email, it says "one-time bill credit of $122.00". (attached)
Does it show up the same way for everyone else? Or did some operational error happen as I was purchasing this?

You have two choices
1) You can pay a few hundred dollars more for the phone at MSRP with free Pixel Buds.
2) You can pay the MSRP and get $450 ($900 for Magenta Max) in credits over 2 years.
Option 2 is a lot cheaper.
To get Option #2, do the deal with the installment plan. Then pay off the plan, in full, as soon as it shows in your account. Just sign in, pay it off, done.
You still get the monthly credits as long as you stay with T-Mobile. If you stick around 2 years, you get the full $450. If you don't, you get less. If you stay with T-Mobile long enough to get more credits than the cost of the free Pixel Buds (assuming you wanted them) you're ahead. If you don't want the Pixel Buds (I don't) then your ahead the first month you get them.
I "Don't Do Contracts" and "I don't borrow money." are both ways of saying, "I can't do basic math and I don't understand how deals work." It's not a smart look. Just buy the phone and pay it off in full after the monthly account credits kick in.
