Here is the link to last year's black friday model with reviews:

The 3 year Allstate warranty on product page should cost $49 when the price drops to 299.99, so may be worth adding for piece of mind.
Your wife's what now?

Please link to the 65" 4K TV that is 120hz for ~$300 that you are referring too!
Definitely not for 300 bucks, I was a bit generous by saying ~300, more like ~400-450.
A 55" yes, I misread the size of this so that's my fault!

The Element 65" 4k roku listed here in this thread is approximately 10 inches larger in screen size.
How does this tv compare to the TCL 55s21 posted below?

https://js2.slickdeals.net/f/15338197-walmart-55-tcl-55s21-4k-uhd-hdr-smart-roku-tv-228-free-shipping?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1

I bought a TCL at 7 PM EST lastnight. I think that the TCL is a little better on build and components, overall performance and picture. What does anyone think that's compared both?

It has four HDMI ports and an Ethernet port. It also comes with a 2-year manufacturer warranty if you register it. I opted for the 3-year Allstate plan. Is that at the same time as the manufacturer warranty or does it extend the manufacturer warranty to 5 years?

I have to say that I'm honestly pleasantly surprised with how great the picture is. I can tell, though, that it is only 60 hertz refresh rate. it's for the living room and the kids watching TV and playing video games so it'll work great.

My first Roku tv. I'm impressed!

Is that an EXTENDED warranty added to the 2 year manufacturer warranty, or is it 3 years from date of purchase (or registration)?
Great question I'd like to know too, tho sounds like it's the latter.

From Allstate 3 Year TV Protection Plan details:
"3. COVERAGES AND TERMS:
This Protection Plan will cover a mechanical or electrical failure of the Product(s) during normal usage for the Term of this Protection Plan. This Protection Plan is inclusive of any manufacturer's warranty that may exist during the Coverage Term. It does not replace the manufacturer's warranty, but provides certain additional benefits during the term of the manufacturer's warranty. Replacement parts will be new, rebuilt or non-original manufacturer's parts that perform to the factory specifications at Our sole option.
"

Also good thing you pointed out the 2yr manufacturer's warrant, I'd thought it was only 1 based on Target's page's Details tab:
"Warranty: 1 Year Limited Warranty. To obtain a copy of the manufacturer's or supplier's warranty for this item prior to purchasing the item, please call Target Guest Services at 1-800-591-3869"

Elements quick start guide [elementelectronics.com] does point out 2yr with registration:
"*1 year manufacturer warranty with purchase or 2 year warranty with product registration within 90 days of purchase"

Sooo would it be a good idea to buy the protection still ?
Could you buy it later, and have the coverage date start say 6mo or 1yr later ?

Product Width with Stand: 56.9 Inches

does that mean the stand is 57 inches wide? I think my location for a tv is a more like 54 inches.

I thought it sounded like the latter as well when I first read the 'inclusive' part. I held off buying the Allstate plan when I ordered one and thought about adding it afterward, but then after some reading it became hmm....if it's 49 bucks for just a year, it doesn't seem worth it.

The "could you buy it later" is an interesting question. More thoughts to ponder!

especially if it was bought using a major credit card that may already provide 1 extra year on top of manufacturer's warranty

if not I guess it's possible to do a return and rebuy with said credit card at pick up

looks like "Coverage only available for new TVs bought in the past 30 days." from https://www.squaretrade.com/tv-warranty (which Allstate owns, and apparently used by NewEgg and Costco too fwiw)
