I may be wrong, but lowest price I've seen so far. For those eligible to purchase on AAFES. Available in Black or Silver

QuietComfort wireless headphones II are engineered with world-class noise cancellation. World-class noise cancellation makes quiet sound quieter and music sound better. A lithium-ion battery lets you enjoy up to 20 hours of wireless listening per charge. And noise-rejecting dual-microphone system provides clearer calls even in noisy environments.

While that is a true statement, not a lot has changed since then.
I watched some reviews for QC45, and I discovered that the sound signature is pretty much the same but the new model may feel inferior than this model.
The plus for QC45 is that they hold more battery and can be charged by USB C.
I'm still using my QC35 (V1) and I enjoy a lot of music and movies with them. It is still a great device. Not to mention that it has one of the best ANC still (slightly behind Sony).
Wow. Great price for sure. Too bad BBY nor Target could price match it unless Navy Exchange and AAFES are located within 25 miles away, per store policy

My understanding is that the military exchanges websites are open to veterans (brick and mortar stores are excluded). Many DoD civilians are veterans, but it's the veteran status that confers eligibility, not DoD civilian employment. "Veterans" means you served, not necessarily that you retired from the military. Google "VetVerify" website for more info.

This is wrong, I'm a DoD civilian and never served and I shop on the exchange now, both online and in store.

Previously, only DoD Civilians serving abroad were automatically eligible, although base commanders had latitude to allow limited access (in general, to the food court, etc). However, as of May 1st, 2021, Exchanges are now open to all DoD Civilian employees and retirees [defense.gov]. Access to the online store was required to be implemented by October.

Get them while you can, last year they were in and out of stock throughout the holidays at this price. With the current supply issues they might not get as many this year.

This was released in Oct 2017 , 4 years old model please watch for the Sony XM4 deals or Bose QC45 or Bose n700 deals at 200$ best value for your bucks

149$ is not a bad price but not for 4 years old model.
I also recommend adding a few bucks to get the XM4 instead of this. I got two qc35(v1 and v2) and an XM4. The noise cancellation of both of them don't make a difference but XM4 comes with more useful features (automatic transparent mode and etc.) More important! IMO, the quality control of bose is kinda horrible. Both of my qc35 don't function well after two years of use.

Not nearly as well as I'd expected it to be; I don't think I ever saw any official notice from the local base, nor my agency, and who knows how many eligible retirees still don't know. I'd been tracking it because something similar had made it into the proposed NDAA for at least the past three or four years, but was cut before the final bills. They hope it'll help the Exchanges with their operating expenses by opening up the user-base. It's sure nothing to sneeze at, being able to get your groceries and other items tax-free.

Are you saying this is the Commissary too? That's a completely different organization from the Exchange, isn't it? Or does the Exchange sell groceries now?

The Exchanges did more to publicize the access for Veterans to the online Exchange websites a couple of years ago. They stood up VetVerify to support this. This time for this even bigger policy change, crickets!

The Commissary was listed in the previous versions of the bill I'd read, but it looks like only the Exchange was included in the version that passed. I hadn't tried to get groceries there yet, so good to know...

The opening of the on base exchanges to civilians was widely publicized. But the online implementation was more of a "it will happen in the future." I actually didn't know civilians could access online, but someone mentioned it in the thread so I registered no problem.
