Verizon Wireless Loyalty $5 for 999GB of data per month YMMV

I chatted with Verizon this past week as we had an overage of data on our old 12gb monthly family plan shared data that includes hotspots. The rep credited the overage charge and said we had a loyalty offer for $5 extra per month for 999GB to continue indefinitely. Sounded like a great deal as we always get close the plan limit or go over. We use hotspot tethering a lot as well for work.

This worked out great for us as I had no desire to switch to the new unlimited plans as they would have increased out monthly bill by a lot.

We've been with Verizon for about 13 years.

So you're presumably on some older family plan that's not insanely lower than the current unlimited plans? Any guidance you can provide on your current rate(s)?

We pay about $123 for 4 lines with tax included per month. There's a work discount in there as well for my employer. This will increase our bill $5 per month.

I have the 10gb plan 4 lines. Do you think we qualify? Is that a typo, 999gb?? That would mean unlimited essentially. For $5 way worth it.

I pay 138 tax included for 5 unlimited lines on a new plan and get the Disney bundle included. I do have a military discount, but even without that, it would be 178. Presumably getting the 999 gb add on would make it unlimited enough, but the new plans are not that bad.

We are stuck with verizon for a year. After the year, we are moving out. I thought they are the best, but in my area, not happy with the service. The biggest con is inside buildings. And certain area in the middle of busy commercial location its non existence.

That's amazing. I'm at 3 lines not unlimited for $140. Even with 20% discount.

Try T-Mobile test drive app free for a month. I also have issues with Verizon sometimes but I don't think the other providers are much better.

I also have an old 12GB plan but they just throttle us down when we go over data. I'd definitely pay $5 more a month for extra data.

I chatted with Verizon today and asked about this... they had a different Loyalty offer available for me... I now pay 86.80 for my plan for 2 phones, including a 22% plan discount... I have 6GB shared data. They offered me $25.00 off one of the unlimited plans, which would increase my net bill each month about 8.20.

Bottom line, it pays to contact them and straight up ask if they have any loyalty offers available for your account.

I just chatted with Verizon rep, couldn't get anything like you were offered. My account is at least 10+ years old. I'm on 10gb shared plan with 4 lines and with work discount I pay $137 + taxes and fees.

I was offered cheapest unlimited plan for $18 more/mo. that's if I use a debit/checking account to pay my bill. Not horrible since I pay $15 per 1gb overage on my account. I have gone over a few times.

Contacting Vz over the website chat is how I got unlimited for $35/month. It's the lower of the unlimited plans so my hotspot is crazy throttled but I never use the hotspot so I don't care. My son wanted an iphone but in order to get the $800 off I'd have to change my plan to a higher unlimited plan. Nope. So he bought a used phone off swappa.com. Cell phones are such a PITA.

Called today and it was $10 month for 999gb. We were about to move to unlimited plan but this came out cheaper
