Update 11/6: Price dropped to $340 from $350.

We bought our first one of these mattresses back in 2016. Prices back then were even lower (I think we paid $280 back then?). The foam had started to get softer over the years, and a couple of months ago we bought a second one to replace it. The price we paid on September 15 was something like $450.

Today I got notice that the price dropped down to $349.99 -- maybe this is the new low in recent times. I doubt this mattress price will go back to 2016 prices.

Love this mattress. It's firm enough, and the last one we had lasted over 5 years, and we probably could have made it another couple years but we had the extra budget. No regrets getting it at $450, so $350 would have been zero hesitation.

One thing about nearly all of these bed-in-a-box mattresses is that you should NEVER remove the outer cover (even though it has a zipper). To make these mattresses fireproof, they line the inside of that outer cover with a fiberglass like material (all mattresses at this price point do it). If you remove the outer cover, you'll get fiberglass shards all over and it will be a nightmare to clean up. Our mattress that was in service for over 5 years, the bottom side of it seemed to have some fiberglass-looking shiny fibers when shined with a flashlight. I looked when we hauled it to the curb for trash pickup. I didn't get any irritation, so I have no bad story to report. But if you do some research, you'll find lots of horror stories about fiberglass woes. Just wanted to make sure everyone knows about this. We're fine; we put a standard water proof mattress protector on top of the mattress and then put our regular sheet on top of that so we never had a reason to have to take their cover off to wash.

12" is nice, but might also suggest this as an alternative:

Queen version is same price as this Zinus. It's Costco, so easy returns. There's no fiberglass per the Manufacturer here:

My wife and I love this bed! We have had a handful and purchased this for our daughter, but when we tuck her in at night we tend to fall fast asleep. it's awesome.

These get crazy soft after 2 years. Low budget "memory foam/gel" is definitely not the way to go. I actually miss my old coil springed mattress.

Apparently it also leaks through the cover so I wouldn't trust it at all.

Oh, thanks!

I didn't know there was a lawsuit. Will join it even if I get nothing out of it.

Love mine. Got a queen for under $300 for a guest bedroom, I tried it a few times and liked it so much I made it my primary. I am a big guy and I've had it 3 years. Feel like it's time for a replacement though, but got my money's worth and more.

Got a notification about the class-action lawsuit for people who opened the cover. Not going to join the lawsuit as I wasn't that dumb and don't want to punish a company I had a good experience with.

It's not about people being "dumb" and removing the cover. There was no warning not to remove the cover. And since the cover includes a zipper, you would assume it could be removed and washed. If the cover shouldn't come off, they really shouldn't have put a zipper on the damn thing.
