I have a 14 month old and the recommended sizes seem fine to me! My daughter is 50th percentile weight wise

They do for me. My daughter is 6.5 months and in carters 12m now. She's 90 percentile height.

I find that they run pretty true to size. My daughter is almost 2 and can wear either 18 or 24 months.

What confuses people is that some places call the size 6-9 months, and others (like carters) just call it 9 months. Those are the exact same sized clothes. So getting the 9 month size doesn't mean they start wearing it at 9 months, it means they can start wearing it at about 6 months and will still be wearing it at 9 months. My daughter was also in the 90+ percentile for height and we always switched one size up about a month early. So we were wearing the 9-12 month size at about 8 months.
