Just researched on XDA, looks like NO for the Tracfone variant. (SM-S515DL)
There is a private grey seller that will unlock samsung devices for $65. Too steep for something like this.
There are also no custom roms for this variant either, only the SM-A51_ models.

I would had jumped on this deal if I was absolutely sure it would let me extend the one year service to my existing service already (the phone would be used eventually after I confirm I can extend the service). Waited too long and missed the deal

For future reference, you activate new phone/plan keeping current number. After plan is active on new phone you can reactivate old phone again keeping number & everything moves back to old phone leaving the new phone as inactive. It will stay on account as deactivated & can be reactivated later - or used as wifi device.

Just received this phone and plan to give it as a gift, but no where on the box does it mention having a Super AMOLED display, or anything OLED. Is my retail box missing a sticker or something?

Hi guys, i just received today and activated it. Next year this day, what do i need to do to get it unlocked? Do i need to add another year of service before unlocking it? Any insights will be greatly appreciated

Google Tracfone unlock policy, at bottom of linked page you enter phone info - after 12 months of service.

Set a reminder as you may be able to request unlock a few days before the one-year service is up. You can also join the Tracfone Rewards program using a referral within 14 days of creating an account and earn up to 8000 points. These points usually become available 61 days after you signed up (unfortunately TF Rewards program is not working properly right now). If you use these points to buy the basic plan (2000 points for 90-Day service with very limited minutes/text/data), you could extend your service by 360 days to give you plenty of time to request unlock.

You don't need to add another service in order to unlock it. I unlocked TF phone on the last day of service (which you can find from your acct) without extending the service.

Been helping a friend figure out if her Sprint iPhone 5s is really going to be useless on cellular once Sprint 3G goes away.

How will the eventual shutdown of all the 3G networks affect this phone? Can it do VoLTE? Is there another way it works for calls?

2 issues: I've activated this as a second line on my existing account with an active BYOD SIM which still has many months till expiration, but I only got 60 rewards points instead of 7000 for adding a line. Haven't contacted them yet, but I'm annoyed if they changed the promotion while it's still listed on the website.

Second, when I go to the tfwunlockpolicy site it tells me the device isn't eligible for the unlocking program. I was expecting to see a counter or something, rather than a flat out rejection. Is that normal or did something go wrong with my activation?
