This. That TV is junk comparatively.
I would lean towards sony...handsdown
Too bad this uses the X1 processor instead of XR cognitive like on the X90J

[quote="alarson83;150924718"]That's pretty much where i'm at right now. I'm coming from a 7 year old 65" samsung (UN65H7150). Was originally looking at the 75" X90J but have been talking myself into an 85", im upgrading in picture quality either way even if the 75" is a little better. But keeping my eye on the alternatives.

Been telling myself this since I bought my first 55" HDTV 18 years ago - get the biggest one that'll fit - finally listening
From 10 ish feet away, this is about as big as I can go - based on my research

Under Advanced Console Compatibility the review states: "First, if you want to play games in Dolby Vision, you're limited to 4k @ 60Hz." So looks like the same limitation is present on this set.
Thanks. Disappointing. Im probably going to stick with the 75" TCL from BB for $1300. Seems to get 4k 120 hdr on a 80+ is going to be way more money.

This Sony TV apparently does HDR at 4k 120Hz but specifically Dolby Vision is not supported at 120Hz.

Is that even legit? They always seem to have the cheapest by a few hundred bucks at least

This or the LG 86" nanocell 90?
I've seen both in person and can't make up my mind.
Home theater setup so all seating is in front of the tv
unpopular opinion right here, but everyone on this site jerks off Sony based on paper specs - I bought an 86" 900 from Costco last year, the OS has caused nothing but problems. For some reason it will occasionally kill my ubiquiti network - you read that right, some sort of DHCP issue in the TV OS kills my whole home network, unplug it and it works fine. The wifi randomly goes out so I am having to constantly power cycle (a couple times per week).

Audio and HDMI issues are about the same as every other TV I guess.

None of that stuff is a dealbreaker but god damn can I not just have a TV that works and doesn't have me hunting down troubleshooting fixes for annoying problems every other week?

I got my wife a cheap LG for her office and it's not given us any issues whatsoever. I'm overseas now but when I get home I'm either getting the 77" C1 form costco or the QNED from LG.

Last question is where should I buy from, BuyDig, Costco, Gtoes?

I mean, no tax and cheaper price is good but it's hard to pass on the extended warranty. Does GT offer it?

I thought you had to name your price on GT? Was this TV a GT NOW offer yesterday? Looks like they expire each day? Never used the site before...

There's no X90J in an 85"

No problem - that's the Costco version of the X900H - I doubt you'll find one at a Costco, anywhere - they blew them out last summer at 2K
