Just remember that in order to get the $1 Game Pass Ultimate (GPU) upgrade you cannot have had GPU before. If you had GPU before did then it will cost you $14.99 to convert. In order to get the full 3 years you must NOT have an active GPU subscription. If you do then you will only convert 4 months for every 1 year of XBox Live Gold you activate.
