Please be aware - these xfinity comcast speeds are not guaranteed, read the fine print, after paying for gigabit speeds for 2 yrs realized it never came even close, we were getting only 250 mbps I tried different routers.
Also if you have many in the neighborhood on Xfinity, it slows you down.
Lastly, when we went past 1 TB we got an additional bill saying we used too much, this happened for two months and I switched.
Although their Customer Service is much better than ATT

So i could possibly get $800 $300 new home+mobile customer/$200 BYOD/$300 1200 plan.
Hmm, maybe....would be awesome. When I add the plan to my cart and go through the options it does tell me I can get $500 in GCs. You should see if it looks like you'll get $800.
I am in Northeast and Xfinity was to implement the cap while I was in 2-year contract but then paused. My contract just ended early this month. Don't bother to check the cap and I just ordered FiOS today.
I just successfully ported a Google Voice number to Xfinity as part of the BYOD $200 GC portion of this deal, which requires you port-in a number as part of the new mobile account. Here is the process for those who would like to do this as well:
Set a voicemail PIN for your Google Voice (GV) number, if you haven't done so already. This is necessary because this PIN will serve as the port-out PIN you'll be supplying to Xfinity when you open your mobile account. To set your GV voicemail PIN, follow the directions here[google.com]. Note you must use a desktop browser for this - I tried using "Desktop Mode" on my iPhone and it wont give you the legacy page needed to change the PIN.
Unlock your GV number for porting by going to https://www.google.com/voice/unlock while logged into your Google account. (Google's instructions for reference[google.com]). The charge for the unlocking is $3. Once the fee is paid, you can use that same link[google.com] to check the status of the port-out. After paying the $3 the status should say "Unlocked". Normally GV numbers are locked against porting out as a security measure to prevent unauthorized porting - the status "unlocked" means that Google will now permit a port-out request for the number.
Open a new Xfinity Mobile account - I went to an Xfinity retail store to do so but I imagine you can do it online as well. Indicate that you're porting a number in. For Xfinity to authenticate the port-out request with Google you'll need an account number and PIN - the account number is your GV phone number but without the parenthesis and dash - for example, 5551112222 instead of (555) 111-2222. The PIN is your GV voicemail PIN.
After Xfinity submits the port-out it should immediately show on the rep's screen as "verified". This means the GV account # and PIN were authenticated when Xfinity set the port-out request to Google. However your number has not been ported yet - mine actually took three full days to port. Apparently this is because GV numbers are treated as land lines in the system and those can take a very long time to port. During this phase the https://www.google.com/voice/unlock status link will immediately change from "Unlocked" to "Unlocked(approved)". There is a very detailed description of this process at this link[google.com].
When the port is completed, you'll get an email from Xfinity letting you know the number has been activated and is ready to use.

On the flip side of the coin.. randomly goes down only a few times a year which would be fine, but I get speeds less than 1/4 advertised. This was when I tried both my personal modem and their own rented modem.
When I called them they said it must be your device having an issue. Yeah.. every phone, pc, laptop, tablet all having the exact same issue at the same time... couldn't possibly be their shit service
I always got my advertised speed until they upped our speed to 800mbps from 400mbps at
one of my houses. I'm using their modem wired which should be capable of 800mbps. Seems they have now oversold the network in my area finally. I've never come close to 800mbps, I can get 700mbps in the middle of the night sometimes a little higher but during the regular day its usually around 400-500.
I've personally had less outages than the fiber provider I used to have. My fiber line was going down at least once a month. Comcast is probably once a year, but the customer service was light years better at my local fiber company. Surprisingly signing up for this deal I was able to actually get people on the phone and didn't get stuck in their crappy phone system with the machine. Maybe they are finally improving their customer service.

To get the $30 discount, can someone clarify if a By the Gig plan (starting from $15) for new mobile line is OK or an unlimited data plan (starting from $45) is required. After reading thru posts here or fine prints of Xfinity, I am still not sure I got an answer for above question.

I was told by my retail Xfinity rep that by-the-gig plans qualify for the discount. I'm signed up on the $15 1GB plan.

What if I just want to use voice only and not sign up for any plan? Is that possible? I am moving our GV #s that we only use for voice calls. Would that void the $30 monthly discount?
Anyone know the cheapest modem that is compatible?
The Motorola MB8600 - sells used for ~$80 or new for $160. Supports DOCSIS 3.1 up to multiples of Gigabits and has a 1Gbps Ethernet port, along with extra 1Gbps ports that can be used for aggregation when/if cable providers go well beyond 1Gbps.
Signed up Thursday for this 600 Mbps plan and got Xfinity mobile service on Friday with 2 lines. First months' internet bill has showed up and they have only given me a $10 mobile discount. CS is kicking me back and forth between Xfinity internet and Xfinity mobile. Hope they will resolve this for me soon.

The ARRIS SB8200 is also a good one but a bit more.
Both of those are DOCSIS 3.1 devices.
