I know many will point out how it was $90-$100 last BF so this isn't the lowest price by a wide margin, but then I also saw in old comments how a lot of people struggled w getting orders processed/delivered when it was that low.

$140+FS seems like the right price for someone who wants the set but doesn't want to risk waiting to see how low it might go and then miss out entirely. And honestly, Farm&Fleet has 30 day price match/60 day return policy, so maybe buy now and then PM or buy again/return when BF price shows up(?)

(or PM w HD if you don't trust Farm&Fleet...)

Not bad, usually about the best deal that you can ACTUALLY get is around $129.

If I was in the market for sockets, this is the set I'd want because the tool count isn't inflated with a bunch of bits and Allen wrenches

Got the case last year at Black Friday for about $89. It's probably the best socket set you'll find. Note that It's very heavy but it has a ton of sockets of various sizes. It's also difficult to get the sockets out of each spot, but that's also a positive as they're very secure and you're not going to be playing 192 socket pick up.

i agree the downside to this set is how difficult the pieces are to get out of the case. tools work fine but i literally carry around a screwdriver so i can pry the tools out of the case.

I'm in. I know it was less but that was a different world, a lot has changed since January and my time machine is broke. If I miss out on $40 savings, I am still getting a great set of 6 points, in a case, way cheaper than piecing this together on my own (and still not have a case). Thanks OP for posting.

Like most true slickdeals, if you snooze, you lose. Yes, we got these for $89 delivered from FleetFarm by having in cart before the free shipping expired and the sale went live a few minutes early. The $89 was the deal, whereas there have recently been Husky and Craftsman sets for around a $100 that were/are comparable with easy warranty.

Thus, I am not convinced that a 60% increase is yet a deal. I don't know what is on the hundreds of ships waiting to be unloaded, but I expect because of the created problem, there could be a shortage of deals before Christmas, but plenty in January like it used to be.

Yes it's a big heavy tool set but focusing on the positive it's the best set for anyone starting to assemble their tool collection because it encompasses 90% of the sockets and extensions you will ever need AND they are all 6pt sockets instead of the 12 pt so they are even better! Pull them out of the case and use socket organizers to start building up your garage toolbox! Nothing out there comes close to this set for this value and quality! Wrenches can easily be purchased separately and you choose!

Now for the bad news…if you live in California you can't have this shipped as they don't ship anything to California because of the crazy regulations here. You can still get the set from Home Depot, Amazon etc but at a higher price currently.

This set is very similar contents wise, and comes in a case where you can add additional tools:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL.../310827235

Main difference is the 192 has some bit sockets, 2 more spark plug sockets, and a few more extensions.

192 is good if you want a smaller form factor for the case, but if you want to add additional tools to one kit, I believe the 226 toughsystem kit is better.

The 192 has quite a few more sockets. I have both kits and the 192 piece set is superior for total number of sockets, extensions and adaptors. Not trying to be negative of the Home Depot set as it is a great tool set but as I stated above I would rather have more sockets and pick up the wrenches in bigger wrench only sets so you have the larger sizes often needed. Purchase the 192 pc set, Grab a couple of wrench sets both SAE and metric and you have the best and most complete tool set for under $500-$600 and only spent a tad over $200!

The sockets that the 192 has that the 226 does not have is:
  1. 1/4 drive shallow 9/16
  2. 3/8 drive deep 10, 11, 12
  3. 3/4 and 11/16 spark plug sockets
  4. 17 hex / torx sockets
You get 6 more extensions with the 192, a 1/4 universal, and 3 size adapters.

I agree, the wrench selection in the 226 is not great, but the main advantage is the tough system case / removable trays, and the extra empty tray to add additional tools.

Both are very complete sets for working on domestic and imports, minus German makes.

This is a great set. Just recently used it to change a fuel pump and some other random broken things
