Eufy has cheapened out on these Eufycam 2 Pro cameras compared to the exact same camera models produced last year. Apparently they have changed to an inferior chip in these cameras that requires different firmware. Maybe it's due to chip shortage issue. So you can have multiple Eufycam 2 Pro cameras with different components and different firmwares.

It's known that at least the newly produced cameras don't support privacy zones (this feature is missing in the app for such cameras). And it seems the recorded audio is worse too. Maybe there are other deficiencies, but Eufy isn't disclosing them.

There are some threads on eufy's forums and on reddit about these issues.
This is false about these cameras having storage on them. The storage is in the base station for these. You're thinking of their standalone cameras that come sans base station.
The video is stored in the base, which is 16gb. The camera come with magnetic mounts and screw mounts for a little more secure mounting outside. They also have an alarm feature that will sound if they are touched or moved. The magnetic mounting would be ideal for indoor applications.

I have had 6 of these for about 3 years with no issues. Maybe try not to drop the next one or learn to clean a lens.
Ouch!

Odd. Doesn't product description show battery last for 1 year.

No, these are battery-operated motion-activated cameras.

Know that the only way to get videos off of the internal 16GB memory on the HomeBase is by download them ONE BY ONE via your phone. They never followed through with the promise of the ability to download them to an external drive via the USB port on the unit. That port is useless.

It works with their doorbell chime, but that's it for now.

I have 3 of these and the battery doorbell, and these are by far the best I have used for the money. Simplisafe sucked, Arlo sucked, Nest basically went backwards 5 years with their new cams, and Amcrest doesn't just suck, they are a complete joke. My only gripe about homebase 2 is the lack of expandable storage. But even with tons of motion triggers, hasnt been an issue. I clear the storage every 30 days.

Only one I know of that does good 24/7 recording are Nest cameras, but that was with the old Nest app and web interface. After they were purchased by google, the quality of the hardware went down, they declared the Nest app EOL and pushed people to Google Home for all new hardware. The google home app sucks as far as security cameras go. It's not very intuitive and lacks features. The eufy cams do allow you to program them for how you have them powered, so you can set them for hardwired, but I believe all that does is max out the recording settings and trigger times. Whether it supports 24/7 when hardwired via their cloud service I don't know exactly. It seems like this is something they have explored but haven't expanded on yet.

These or something like the wired Lorex or Swann from Costco that do 24/7 recording?

I have an Eufy doorbell and it's motion detection isn't great. On the highest setting the tree constantly sets it off, on one notch lower, it occasionally misses people. That has me scared that these will miss it if something happens that I need video of. So it makes the idea of 24/7 recording very attractive.

However, the ease of installation definitely seems like a huge plus with these.

Can I add more cameras to the hub??
Yes. I run 5 EufyCam 1080p cameras at the moment on the home base.

I also have the wired doorbell and two pan and tilt cameras.

The doorbell and pan and tilts do not connect to the homebase.

I know these are listed as indoor/outdoor, but I only need indoor (for now). Would these be ok, or is it better to get the exclusively indoor ones?

Also, can videos be recorded or easily transferred to a NAS? I have a Synology with 20TB and I want more space than the 16 GB on the HomeBase.

Each camera has built-in storage. Many folks in the Eufy community have expressed desire to expand/increase data storage via SD card using the hub, rather than the built-in storage in the camera. Thieves can easily steal the whole camera since it mounts via magnet, unless you bolt it down. Or you can mount it really high to deter theft.
Thieves won't bother they just use a signal jammer. Don't buy wireless cameras to deter thieves or as part of a security system.
