I bought this for $800 a few days ago, but ended up returning it. The fans are really loud even in battery saver mode, and the build quality is not great. I also bought the $750 LG Gram 15 from Costco recently, and the Gram is just so much better than the Galaxy Book Pro. The only advantage the Samsung has over the LG is the better contrast and color rendition, but the Gram's display is less grainy than than OLED panel on the Samsung, so text appears sharper. Also no PWM flicker on the Gram's display, vs very noticeable PWM flicker on the OLED panel. The Gram just feels better to touch, the screen tilts back further, the keyboard is considerably better, better battery life, the screen has less wobble, has two m.2 slots. Samsung made the Galaxy Book Pro just too thin for it's own good, which impacts the cooling performance and the keyboard (less key travel).
360 version $999 at Bestbuy so hard pass.
I own this in the i5/ 8gb /512gb Ssd configuration. Never have noticed any fan noise and the build quality seems great to me.

You made a good decision. My experience with Samsung laptops and after sales support was awful. A quick Google search would give anyone pause before buying a Samsung laptop.

Saw this at Costco today before this post. Love it! Portability is very light similar to MacAir. The sample has been on and no fan noise.
After fixing portable fridge (fan noise) and exchanged Dyson fan for another, the noise is due to fan is too close to enclosure. You just need to exchange it. As for specs, this laptop is really about weight (2.1 lb) and portability plus upgrade specs like i7, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD. If gaming is your preference, this laptop is not for you.

I'd just get the i5 LG Gram that is $750. None of these laptops have good enough cooling to even cool the i5, let alone the higher clocked i7.

This laptop has one of the loudest fan and hottest surface temperature I've experienced in a portable laptop. I returned mine after 3 day because the back cover got bent from the heat. I mainly used it for browsing.

I returned it within 24 hours. The fan was just too loud even when browsing, and the screen wasn't impressive enough to keep it. The OLED panels subpixel arrangement makes everything a bit grainy, especially at lower resolutions like 1080p. Things get better if the panel has higher resolution, but the graniness/sceen door effect is definitely noticeable at 1080p.

I have the white one and bought it directly from Samsung website using the edu deal before the start of this ending semester. The keyboard is absolutely awful. Specs are ok for the price and the battery can last a whole day easy. My L key came off and was able to put it back on very carefully, and it needs to get warranty work. Some people are around me saying since I didn't get the accidental protection. They won't warranty the stupid key. The keyboard seems like a butterfly key. Like the ones from the mac a year or so ago. They are the worst design keys I have ever seen. I'd return the laptop if I could.

Between those two, the 16gb ram and 1tb drive for $100 is totally worth it especially if you want to keep this for a few years. 8gb ram will be a chore to use since the ram is not upgradable.
