There's comments like this in every MacBook Air M1 thread, but have no clue what they're talking about. Look into how this thing actually performs instead of thinking it's the same as the Intel chipsets with 8gb of ram.

I had to return my MBA...The plain box that they gave me had the right item number (1481769 ) from Costco for a space gray. The manufacturer label on the box (MGND3LL/A) is for the gold color. I opened the cardboard box and it was indeed gold. Costco had mislabeled them with their in-store item number when they received them.

My shipping delayed so I went in store to buy it. Hilariously it then tried to ship for a Saturday delivery. Had to ask if he intercepted and refunded.

Note: the gold looks UGLY in person

I actually kind of like the gold but ordered the space gray because it's my favorite. Anyway I think I might just go buy at the store too. My shipment is running into all kinds of problems. For anyone wanting to do pickup be aware it seems they ship a unit to the store to pickup, rather than pull one off the shelf for pickup. I have to wait for mine to arrive at the warehouse first.

All in all this was free AppleCare for a MBA, so I'm happy my wife agreed to finally let go of her very old chromebook & surface that both were STRUGGLING.

Life pro tip: teach any new user about the ability to add multiple desktops. It's already helped her mentally separate out how she can do pleasure and academic studies. Same concept with windows obviously but helpful for those who need to have that clarity.

As someone who has usually been an Android and pc guy. I actually these M1 air base model are the best deal for most people when looking for anything under 1500.
I replaced my xps 15 and 15 inch mbp 2018 with this for the insane battery life, no noise and excellent on battery performance.

Looks like some colors available online again, expected to ship 12/6-12/10.

Also can be available in store. I went yesterday and got a Space Gray. The Costco employee who helped me said they had 20(!) in-stock.
