Heads up: if you already have your headset connected to the oculus app, you can factory reset it and still use a referral for the 30$. (problem is you need to re-download everything afterwards).

I bought vader an hour before the sale for 10$ when all 3 came out for 15$.
I refunded but it is gonna take 5 days apparently for it to follow through.
GOOD TIP: you can purchase a game as a gift and send it to any email that isnt your oculus email, and redeem it there, to buy the game at the sale price while also refunding the game at the original price. If you try buying it normally, it will just say you cant do that due to being in the refund process.

Yes, as long as you have a capable PC (I'm running a 1070Ti video card) and have a decent wifi router, you can do it for free: Install the Oculus PC App - Go to Settings - Beta - turn on Air Link. Also have Steam VR and Half-Life Alyx installed on PC. Then inside the Quest 2, go to settings - experimental and enable Air Link. Click around inside the Quest and Pair with your desktop. It takes a bit of stumbling through and reading the pop-up messages inside the Quest and on PC, but it's kind of like pairing your phone to a car's bluetooth - you don't quite remember the exact steps, but you can get through it.
Superhot looks good but idk for 10yo...I mean he plays fortnight like every other kid but trying to keep gun games and gore minimal...

If your talking about the Q2 itself no kidding although technically it's not discounted retailers are just adding $50 gift cards which in the end your actually paying for then the hardware is discounted $50. If you factor the gift card as a discount off the unit itself though I'm sitting pretty at only paying $167 and some change for mine bundling several offers between the past and now that were Cashed in at 2am through Target when it went live.
I was referring to the actual extra hardware though. Which is all retail price on the Oculus store.

Yea glad I have a 3080 and can get steam VR versions instead so I can get an actual sale price. Person posting above was right these sale prices are a joke.
Just so everyone knows - I run Virtual Desktop on the 3GB 1060. Plays Half-Life Alyx without issues. Looks great. No stuttering. It's fantastic that you have a 3080 but it is way overkill for desktop streaming. Sharing this simply because people assume you need crazy specs to use VD.
Steam usually has better pricing BUT there are quite a few exclusives here not available on Steam. Steam is also way more inconvenient (can't take the Quest anywhere and ties up my desktop). I have many games on SteamVR but given the choice I would pay a few bucks more to buy from the Oculus store.
