Oral B IO has more expensive brush heads (vs. the previous version). It is a spin brush and will brush only a tooth at a time.
Sonicare (Comparing it to the diamond version) has a more manual toothbrush feel and can brush 2-3 teeth at a time. Cheaper brush heads and a very cool wireless glass recharge.
Both have comparable battery life. Also, I can't speak about their Android/iOS apps since I don't use them

I've been using an oralb that takes two AA rechargeables and goes for a few months. I prefer it to my collection of sonicares, one of which requires a charging station that's always in the way. But in the end its just the same thing. Always brush and floss. Waterpik is on sale too at costco. I highly recommend it to anyone to add in your routine.
