Seriously, what did you expect, it was a one day sale and it sold out. It happens. I have missed out on countless deals here by being late to the game. Not a big deal. Get over yourselves and move onto the next deal instead of acting immature by complaining or being butt hurt because they won't bend over backwards for you.
Which is the best of the free phones?
Not only will they be locked to T-Mobile, but don't be surprised by the fact that budget phones like these slice and dice which bands they support based upon the operator which sold them. In other words, this is not the same phone as similarly named model from Verizon, and would have different capacity to support functionality on networks outside of T-Mobile (they're all probably 100% fine enough for AT&T).

Presumably the only reason the LG is on this list is because they've abandoned the Android market. Otherwise, it does not belong in the category of free phone and will surely go out of stock VERY quickly after this deal goes live. The other freebie Samsung phones are somewhere between cruel jokes and OK as a dummy device to run your remote control app.

Good luck!

I'm guessing all these phones came with an r15 sim?? Is there a way to identify it?
It's called the R15 SIM because that is printed on the front of it.

Yes as long as you pay it off first.
New to Tmob EIP. So one cannot sell it unless the phone has been paid off? How about given to a family member? Phone cannot be locked to a certain Tmob account right?

Phone is locked to T-Mobile network (not account). You're free to give it to your family members to use on T-mobile network.
You shouldn't sell it while it's still on EIP. Imagine you're the buyer for a moment. If the seller decides to stop paying their bills, T-Mobile would lock the phone rendering it useless. This is called "bad ESN."

as long you keep paying the bill then its ok to give to any T-Mobile, metropcs and sprint user or sell it. if you decide to leave T-Mobile then pay it off.

To all those who were lucky to get this great deal which screen protector and phone case did you buy? Thanks in advance! Cheers!
The only ones that seem to fit good and the camera cutouts line up are the OtterBox and the Incipio, I went with the OtterBox, my phone arrives today but the case doesn't come until Sat or Mon.

For screen protectors since it's a curved screen you're probably better off not using a tempered glass one.

You are correct but one thing to note is that only the original owner can get it network unlocked so as far as unlocking it is somewhat "locked" to your account.

Once it's paid off, as long as whatever account/line that's using it qualifies for an unlock - they can request an unlock even if they were not the original purchaser of the phone. T-Mobile's system doesn't tie it to the original account that way for unlocking purposes once it's paid off.

That's not what they told me when I tried to get a Galaxy S7 unlocked for a friend who bought it from someone. They told me only the original owner can get it unlocked and they told us to try and contact the original owner, that was years ago so hopefully that's changed.

The person they bought it from had paid the phone off but maybe their overall account wasn't in good standing.

That could have been why as it's one the requirements.

The S7 was actively being used on the line you were using to request the unlock and satisfied the 40 day requirement (postpaid)? The only time you'll run into an issue is if someone says it was paid off but actually wasn't. The remaining balance and whatever account it's tied to is considered CPNI so that's when they'd just refer you to the original owner.

I bought the Otterbox from ebay. Good seller, got it fast. It does not obstruct the camera

The seller is probably wondering why the cases for this discontinued model are selling like hotcakes all of a sudden!

They had used the phone on T-Mobile for more than 40 days and T-Mobile said it was paid off when we called them so it makes no sense why they wouldn't unlock it.
