No my friend. Unlike Intel which maxed out to 4 Cores in their U series Processors, even in latest 11th Tiger Lake, despite having higher power consumption and heat generation, Ryzen can have up to 8 Cores and 16 Threads. This 5850U is a 8C/16T CPU which can actually perform similar to Intel's H series 45W CPUs and beat their 10th Gen H series CPUs like i7-10875H while consuming less than 1/3rd of the power and generating a lot less heat.
You can literally use these Processors for any kind of demanding tasks like Video Encoding, huge Code compilation, Huge data calculations in Excels, rendering etc. This processor can be up to 100% more powerful in multithreaded applications than Intel's best 11th Gen CPU 1185G7 or 1195G7.
24gb of ram. hot damn lol
OP's link is bad.

Click link… scroll down to where it says "System Specs"… to the right it says "View All Models"… and the one OP listed is on the bottom right. Click "See More" under each model to check the specs.

Deal is okay, but I paid $1109 over the weekend for the T14s:

- Ryzen 7 Pro 5850u
- 32gb LPDDR4X 4266MHz
- 14.0" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS, anti-glare, touchscreen with Privacy Guard, 500 nits
- .4lbs lighter because carbon fiber, magnesium alloy, aluminum.

**T14 above is plastic and magnesium alloy. (Heavier and thicker).

T14 does have a slot to upgrade ram as well.

This has a good comparison, don't assume T14s is better - each has its pros/cons.

This was for the last versions of those laptops. Not the current versions.

Is this going to drive 2 4k monitors easily? Don't use it for gaming, just productivity and YouTube

Anyone have experience with returning a laptop to Lenovo. How easy is it in the event I need to make a return?

Is it possible to add a graphics card to this at some point or that is not possible?

Also is it possible to upgrade the battery?
It's a laptop, and a thin one too... We're in the age where we are lucky if we can upgrade the RAM and you want to upgrade the graphics...

I've already ordered the lenovo x13 deal for $936 plus tax https://slickdeals.net/f/15455089-lenovo-thinkpad-x13-gen-2-13-3-2560-1600-ryzen-7-pro-5850u-32gb-ddr4-512gb-ssd-964-06?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1

My ship date is 4+ months..... how does this compare? I see the screen on the one I ordered (touch screen) is 300 nits and this deal is 500 nits. This laptop stays indoors 99% of the time. I have a nas so 512g to 1tb hd has no real relevance. I plan on upgrading this to 32gb of ram for running vm's I don't game. This one can ship pretty quick but I'm not in a 911 status for a laptop. my 2013 asus s400ca is still kicking along pretty well. I just figured it was time to upgrade. I'm thinking I should stay with the x13 deal but looking for opinions. Thank you

Think of it as MSRP - an artificial construct that you can then cross out and put a real price

Is this an overkill of a laptop for 6th grade middle schooler? Thinking if I should just get the $450 Target laptop deal vs this. I like Thinkpad's durability and peace of mind of not having to think about upgrade for 4/5 years but at $1300 (after tax) this feels a bit too much for the use case.

My Dell XPS has an i7-10710U - it has 6-cores and 12-threads. Their 11th gen U-series is a large improvement though, because my work laptop's i5-1145G7 4-core/8-thread supposedly provides an overall 15-20% performance improvement over my i7-10710U - so comparing Core-count isn't necessarily an Apples to Apple comparison. But there's on dispute that at current time, even the Ryzen 5 laptop CPU's are better than Intel's latest i7 U-series CPU's.
